ADAIRSVILLE, GA - Morgen Lambert of Booneville, MS kept the Durrence Layne Chevrolet Late Model Sportsman Division National point lead after a win on Friday night at Columbus Speedway in Columbus, MS driving the Rae Trucking Special. Lambert reached the halfway point of the Durrence Layne Weekly Racing Series season with a 62-point lead over Bryson Mitchell of Russellville, AL.

It was the first win of the Durrence Layne Weekly Racing Series season for Lambert, who has 486 points after one win, eight top five finishes and ten top ten finishes in 14 races over 11 weeks of competition. That’s two more weeks of racing than Mitchell, who has 424 points after five wins, nine top five finishes, and 12 top ten finishes in 13 races over nine weeks of competition.

Mitchell drove the Sparks Energy Rocket to his fifth win of the season on Saturday night at North Alabama Speedway in Tuscumbia, AL. Cruz Wallace of Tuscumbia, AL finished second to Mitchell on Saturday night at North Alabama Speedway, and is third in the Durrence Layne Chevrolet Late Model Sportsman Division National standings, one point behind Mitchell.

Wallace has 423 points after two wins, nine top five finishes, ten top ten finishes in 13 races over nine weeks driving the Toyota of the Shoals Special. Mitchell and Wallace have the third and fourth highest Weekly Point Average (WPA) respectively among the Top 20 in the National point standings. Mitchell has a WPA of 47.11 out of a possible 50, and Wallace has a WPA of 47.

Heather Lowe of Warrior, AL is fourth in the Durrence Layne Chevrolet Late Model Sportsman Division National point standings with 402 points. Lowe has four top five finishes and ten top ten finishes in 15 races over nine weeks. Lowe finished eighth on Friday night at Columbus Speedway driving the McKleroy Motorsports Warrior.

Victoria Purcell of Bremen, AL is fifth in the Durrence Layne Chevrolet Late Model Sportsman National standings with 390 points after one top five finish and seven top ten finishes in 13 race over nine weeks. Purcell drove the Anderson Trucking Special to a 17th-place finish on Saturday night at North Alabama Speedway.

In other Durrence Layne Chevrolet Late Model Sportsman Week 13 action, Brian Murray of Russellville, AL took a 40-point win on Friday night at Moulton Speedway in Danville, AL driving the Tires & More GRT. Michael Santangelo of Harahan, LA drove the Santangelo Racing Special to a 40-point win on Saturday night at Jackson Motor Speedway in Jackson, MS.

Rain washed out the Durrence Layne Chevrolet Late Model Sportsman Week 13 races at Camden Speedway in Camden, TN, ECM Speedway in Arkadelphia, AL, and Talladega Short Track in Eastaboga, AL. Whynot Motorsports Park in Meridian, MS did not report their Week 13 results.
