ADAIRSVILLE, GA - Week 14 of the 2019 Durrence Layne Weekly Racing Series season will see six Durrence Layne Chevrolet Late Model Sportsman Division races. At the halfway point of the season, the drivers at the top of the National point standings still have several weeks to earn full points after several rainouts in the first 13 weeks of the season.
Drivers racing in Durrence Layne Weekly Racing events compete for both a Track point fund and a National point fund. Drivers compete against drivers racing at Durrence Layne Racing sanctioned tracks across the country using a National points system over a 27-week season that concludes on September 29.
A driver’s best 14 weekly point totals count as their season total. The top ten drivers in the Durrence Layne Chevrolet Late Model Sportsman Division National point standings will earn a seat at the Durrence Layne Racing Annual Awards Banquet to receive a point fund check and a trophy.
Durrence Layne Chevrolet Late Model Sportsman Division Week 14 races will all be held on Saturday night. Tracks hosting events will be Camden Speedway in Camden, TN, Jackson Motor Speedway in Jackson, MS, Magnolia Motor Speedway in Columbus, MS, North Alabama Speedway in Tuscumbia, AL, Southern Raceway in Milton, FL, and Talladega Short Track in Eastaboga, AL.
Morgen Lambert of Booneville, MS is the Durrence Layne Chevrolet Late Model Sportsman Division National point leader going into Week 14 action. Lambert has one win, eight top five finishes and ten top ten finishes in 14 races over 11 weeks of competition.
Braden Mitchell of Russellville, AL is second in the Late Model Sportsman National standings with 424 points after five wins, nine top five finishes and 12 top ten finishes in 13 races over nine weeks. Mitchell has a one point advantage over the third-place driver in the National standings, Cruz Wallace of Tuscumbia, AL.
Wallace has 423 points after two wins, nine top five finishes, and ten top ten finishes in 13 races over nine weeks. Heather Lowe of Warrior, AL is fourth with 402 points after four top five finishes and ten top ten finishes in 15 races over nine weeks of competition. Victoria Purcell of Bremen, AL rounds out the Top 5 of the Late Model Sportsman National standings with 390 points after one top five finish and seven top ten finishes after 13 races over nine weeks of competition.
