ADAIRSVILLE, GA The Durrence Layne Chevrolet Late Model Division Week 15 Preview is being posted early this July 4th Holiday Week because events will be contested from Wednesday through Saturday. There are 11 races on the schedule of events in six different states that include Kansas, Oklahoma, Tennessee, Mississippi, Alabama and Florida.
The Durrence Layne Weekly Racing Series Week 15 action begins on Wednesday night at 81 Speedway in Wichita, KS in the first of four races co-sanctioned with NCRA in Kansas and Oklahoma. The DL/NCRA Late Model action moves to the historic High Banks in Belleville, KS on Thursday night.
The next Week 15 Durrence Layne Weekly Racing Series stop for the DL/NCRA co-sanctioned Late Model events will be two shows on Friday night and Saturday night at Longdale Speedway in Longdale, OK.
A busy Week 15 Friday night will see Durrence Layne Chevrolet Late Model Division races at Duck River Raceway Park in Lewisburg, TN, Hattiesburg Speedway in Hattiesburg, MS, and Magnolia Motor Speedway in Columbus, MS. North Alabama Speedway in Tuscumbia, AL will run a Week 6 Make-Up Race on Friday night.
North Alabama Speedway returns to action on Saturday night for Durrence Layne Weekly Racing Series Week 15 competition. Southern Raceway in Milton, FL will host a $1,000-to-win race on Saturday night. Thunderhill Raceway in Summertown, TN will also have a $1,000-to-win Durrence Layne Chevrolet Late Model Division race on Saturday night.
Drivers racing in Durrence Layne Weekly Racing events compete for both a Track point fund and a National point fund. Drivers compete against drivers racing at Durrence Layne Racing sanctioned tracks across the country using a National points system over a 27-week season that concludes on September 29.
A drivers best 14 weekly point totals count as their season total. The top ten drivers in the Durrence Layne Chevrolet Late Model Division National point standings will earn a seat at the Durrence Layne Racing Annual Awards Banquet to receive a point fund check worth $10,000 and a trophy.
Cole Cameron of Hattiesburg, MS is the Durrence Layne Chevrolet Late Model Division National point leader going into Week 15 competition. Cameron has a 13-point lead over Sid Scarbrough of Florence, MS. Braden Mitchell of Russellville, AL is seventh in the National point standings, but he has the highest Weekly Point Average (WPA) at 48.22 out of a possible 50.
Jason Jarrell of Hattiesburg, MS has the second highest WPA at 47.90, and is third in the National point standings. Steve Russell of Pontotoc, MS is fourth in the National points chase and has the third highest WPA at 47.40. Cameron has the fourth highest WPA at 47.36, and Shannon Lee of Lumberton, MS is fifth in the National point standings and has the fifth highest WPA at 47.10.
