ADAIRSVILLE, GA – Jake Rainey of Hiram, GA leads the VP Racing Fuels Young Guns Challenge Series points after eight Durrence Layne Chevrolet Dirt Late Model Series National Touring events, and 16 weeks of Durrence Layne Weekly Racing Series Late Model Division competition.
The VP Racing Fuels Young Guns Challenge Series is a series within a series that has its own separate point fund for Durrence Layne Racing Late Model drivers 18 years of age and younger. Rainey is a 15-year-old second generation driver that has 338 points after eight starts in the Durrence Layne Chevrolet Dirt Late Model Series National tour.
Rainey has one top five finish and three top ten finishes driving the Wren’s Body Shop Special. In addition to leading the VP Racing Fuels Young Guns Challenge Series point standings, Rainey is also seventh in the National Touring point standings and third in the Cruise With The Champions Rookie of the Year points chase.
Brock Hall of Ethridge, TN is second in the VP Young Guns Challenge Series standings with 306 points. The 17-year-old driver has two wins, five top five finishes, and six top ten finishes in seven Durrence Layne Chevrolet Late Model Division Weekly Racing Series races driving the Hall Insurance Rocket.
Parker Martin of McIntyre, GA is third in the VP Young Guns Challenge Series standings with 247 points. The 14-year-old driver has one win, two top five finishes, and three top ten finishes in seven races driving the Durrence Layne Chevrolet, Buick, GMC Special.
Clay Harris of Jupiter, FL is fourth in the VP Racing Fuels Young Guns Challenge Series standings with 243 points.
