Delmas Conley Fourth at Portsmouth; Rod Conley Steers to Sixth in Butch Shay Opener

(WHEELERSBURG, OHIO) The Conley Motorsports, Inc. (CMI) team headed to two different tracks in the states of Kentucky and Ohio over the July 19-20 weekend. Rod Conley took his #71r machine south to Richmond Raceway in Richmond, Kentucky to compete in the annual 'Butch Shay Memorial,' which was sanctioned by the Ultimate Mid-Ohio Valley Super Late Model Series. On Friday night in the $3,000 to win weekend opener, Rod won his heat race in preliminary action and later moved up one spot in the 30-lapper to land in the sixth finishing position. At Richmond on Saturday evening in the $5,000 to win 'Butch Shay Memorial,' Rod finished seventh in his heat race, third in his B-Main, and thirteenth in the 50-lap headliner after blitzing past ten competitors.

Delmas Conley was the other CMI driver in competition over the weekend, as he ventured to the nearby Portsmouth Raceway Park in Portsmouth, Ohio for a weekly Super Late Model program. Delmas posted the fifth fastest lap overall during the qualifying session and later placed second in his heat race. After starting the main event from the inside of the second row, the Dirt Late Model Hall of Famer was gunning for the $2,000 payday before eventually settling for a fourth place showing behind only victor Steve Casebolt, Kenny Christy, and Shannon Thornsberry. Full results from both facilities can be accessed online at www.richmond-raceway.net and www.portsraceway.com.

With R.J. and J.T. Conley slated to enjoy another weekend off from racing action on July 26-27, Delmas and Rod Conley will once again carry the banner for the CMI teams. Delmas is scheduled to invade Atomic Speedway in Alma, Ohio where a $2,000 top prize will be on the line in a weekly Super Late Model contest. Rod, on the other hand, will enter two more $3,000 to win Ultimate Mid-Ohio Valley Super Late Model Series shows at Hilltop Speedway in Millersburg, Ohio (Friday) and Wayne County Speedway in Orrville, Ohio (Saturday).
