ADAIRSVILLE, GA – Week 18 of the 27-Week Durrence Layne Weekly Racing Series 2019 season for the Durrence Layne Chevrolet Late Model Sportsman Division will feature seven races this Friday night and Saturday night. There will be one race on Friday night, and six races on the schedule of events for Saturday night.

The battle for the 2019 Durrence Layne Chevrolet Late Model Sportsman Division National Championship continues, as drivers approach the 14-week marks of their respective seasons. The Week 18 action for the Durrence Layne Chevrolet Late Model Sportsman Division begins with the lone Friday night event at Columbus Speedway in Columbus, MS.

On Saturday night, Camden Speedway in Camden, TN, ECM Speedway in Arkadelphia, AL, Jackson Motor Speedway in Jackson, MS, Magnolia Motor Speedway in Columbus, MS, North Alabama Speedway in Tuscumbia, AL, and Talladega Short Track in Eastaboga, AL will host Durrence Layne Chevrolet Late Model Sportsman Division events.

Drivers racing in Durrence Layne Weekly Racing Series events compete for both a Track point fund and a National point fund. Drivers compete against drivers racing at Durrence Layne Racing sanctioned tracks across the country using a National points system over a 27-week season that concludes on September 29.

A driver’s best 14 weekly point totals count as their season total. Once a driver reaches 14 weeks of competition, they start trying to net points by replacing the lowest weekly total among their best 14 weekly totals with a higher one. A driver can only count their best point finish each week as their total for that week.

The top ten drivers in the Durrence Layne Chevrolet Late Model Sportsman Division National point standings will earn a seat at the Durrence Layne Racing Annual Awards Banquet to receive a point fund check and a trophy.

Bryson Mitchell of Russellville, AL leads the Durrence Layne Chevrolet Late Model Sportsman Division National standings with 614 points and one more week to earn full points. Cruz Wallace of Tuscumbia, AL is second in the National standings with 560 points, and he has two more weeks to earn full points.

Brian Murray of Russellville, AL is third in the standings with 553 points and he has one more week to earn full Durrence Layne Chevrolet Late Model Sportsman Division points. Morgen Lambert of Booneville, MS is fourth with 532 points and two more weeks to earn full points.

Blake Ray of Russellville, AL and Heather Lowe of Warrior, AL are tied for the fifth spot in the Durrence Layne Chevrolet Late Model Sportsman Division National standings with 514 points apiece. Ray has three more weeks to earn full points, and Lowe has two more weeks to earn full points before hitting the 14-week mark of their respective seasons.
