Schaeffer’s Oil MARS Super Late Models at Brownstown Speedway August 3 for 15th Annual Hall of Fame Classic

SOMERSET, KENTUCKY (July 29, 2019)- The Schaeffer’s Oil MARS Super Late Model Racing Series is set to return to action with a big event on Saturday August 3 at the historic Brownstown Speedway in Brownstown, IN as the series will sanction the track’s 15th Annual Hall of Fame Classic that will see the winner earn $10,000 for their efforts. .

Brownstown Speedway will host the Schaeffer’s Oil MARS Super Late Model Racing Series for the 15th Annual Hall of Fame Classic on Saturday August 3, with the Schaeffer’s Oil MARS Super Late Models in competition in a full program of practice, time trials, heats, b-mains, and the 50 lap, $10,000 to win/$500 to start 15th Annual Hall of Fame Classic main event. Other divisions in competition at Brownstown Speedway on Saturday August 3 will be the track’s Open Wheel Modifieds, Super Stocks, and Pure Stocks.

Activities at Brownstown Speedway on Saturday August 3 for the 15th Annual Hall of Fame Classic will see all gates open at 3:00 p.m. Driver registration will close at 5:15 p.m., with the drivers meeting set for 5:30 p.m. and practice will begin at 6:00 p.m., followed immediately by green flag racing. Ticket prices for the 15th Annual Hall of Fame Classic on Saturday August 3 at Brownstown Speedway in the general admission area will $25 for adults, with children ages 12 and under free. A pit pass will be an additional $15 at the pit gate.

The Super Late Model portion of the racing program will be sanctioned by the Schaeffer’s Oil MARS Super Late Model Racing Series. The entry fee will be $100, plus transponder rental for timing/scoring purposes. The Super Late Model tire rule will be as follows: Hoosier 1350 anywhere on the car and a LM40 right-rear option. Random tire samples will be taken by the series. Drivers not making the feature event will receive $50 tow money.

The Schaeffer’s Oil MARS Super Late Model Racing Series has made two previous visits to Brownstown Speedway so far in 2019, with Devin Gilpin of Columbus, IN and Shelby Miles of Bloomington, IN taking victories. Billy Moyer, Jr. of Batesville, AR is the defending champion of the Hall of Fame Classic at Brownstown Speedway, winning last year’s contest over Tanner English, Kent Robinson, Michael Kloos, and Michael Chilton.

The event will also see Brownstown Speedway induct the members of the Hall of Fame Class of 2019 to the Brownstown Speedway Hall of Fame. Those inductees include Doug Ault, Ray Hughes, and Joe Johnson, plus one more person that will receive surprise induction at the time of the ceremony.

The Schaeffer’s Oil MARS Super Late Model Racing Series has seen five different winners in five events so far in 2019, with those winners including Brian Shirley (Clarksville), David Seibers (Clarksville), Devin Gilpin (Brownstown), and Kent Robinson (Farmer City), and Shelby Miles (Brownstown). David Seibers of Chapel Hill, TN is the current series points leader heading into the weekend of action, as he leads Coldwater, MS native Dean Carpenter by just two points.
