Jimmy Mars Lands Second Feature Win of 2019 During Busy Cedar Lake Weekend!

(MENOMONIE, WISCONSIN) Jimmy Mars picked up his second feature win at Cedar Lake Speedway during the 2019 season on Saturday evening, August 3 in NASCAR Late Model action during the 32nd Annual 'USA Nationals' weekend at the famed New Richmond, Wisconsin facility! Jimmy led the 40-lap main event on three different occasions and grabbed the point for good on the 33rd circuit before beating Jesse Glenz, John Kaanta, Don Shaw, and Darrell Nelson to the finish line to bag the $2,500 winner's check. A night earlier in NASCAR competition, Jimmy wound up fifth in the 40-lapper behind only $2,500 victor John Kaanta, Don Shaw, Jake Redetzke, and Jesse Glenz.

During the World of Outlaws Morton Buildings Late Model Series portion of the lucrative 'USA Nationals' weekend at Cedar Lake, Jimmy started on Thursday by running sixth in his heat race, third in his B-Main, and fifteenth in the 30-lap feature event, which paid $6,000 to the winner. In Friday's double set of qualifying heat races, Jimmy wound up ninth in his first prelim, while he scored the victory in his final heat race of the night. After grabbing the third transfer spot through his B-Main on Saturday to advance into the $50,000 to win 'USA Nationals,' the Menomonie, Wisconsin ace was an early retiree and was officially placed twenty-fifth in the final rundown of the 100-lap crown jewel spectacular. Full results from the entire weekend can be accessed online at www.cedarlakespeedway.com.

The Mars Racing team is slated to enjoy the upcoming August 9-10 weekend away from the racetrack, but Jimmy will return to competition on Friday, August 16 at the nearby Red Cedar Speedway in Menomonie, Wisconsin. The 3rd edition of the ‘Mahder 55’ will take place next Friday and the WISSOTA Challenge Series will once again sanction the single-day throwdown. Jimmy has picked up the $5,555 top prize in each of the first two ‘Mahder 55’ events and will look to make it three-for-three in the win column next week!
