ADAIRSVILLE, GA – Week 20 of the 2019 Durrence Layne Chevrolet Late Model Division season will feature ten races over two nights of Durrence Layne Weekly Racing Series action. There will be two events on Friday night, and eight races to choose from on Saturday night. Tennessee National Speedway in Hohenwald, TN will highlight Friday night Durrence Layne Chevrolet Late Model Division action with the $1,000-to-win 2nd Annual Melissa Cothran Memorial Race. Hattiesburg Speedway in Hattiesburg, MS will also host the Durrence Layne Chevrolet Late Model Division on Friday night.

Saturday night Durrence Layne Chevrolet Late Model Division races will be held at Camden Speedway in Camden, TN, Duck River Raceway Park in Lewisburg, TN, Greenville Speedway in Greenville, MS, Jackson Motor Speedway in Jackson, MS, Magnolia Motor Speedway in Columbus, MS, North Alabama Speedway in Tuscumbia, AL, Talladega Short Track in Eastaboga, AL, and Thunderhill Raceway in Summertown, TN.

Braden Mitchell of Russellville, AL leads the Durrence Layne Chevrolet Late Model Division National standings with a best 14-week total of 680 points. Mitchell has a slim three-point lead in the standings over a driver that can net eight points with a win.

Shannon Lee of Lumberton, MS is second in the National standings with a best 14-week total of 677 points. Lee will be trying to net on a 42 in his next race. If The General can get a 50-point win in a Durrence Layne Chevrolet Late Model Division field of eight or more cars, he will net eight points and can take over the point lead after Week 20 competition.

Drivers racing in Durrence Layne Weekly Racing Series events compete for both a Track point fund and a National point fund. Drivers compete against drivers racing at Durrence Layne Racing sanctioned tracks across the country using a National points system over a 27-week season that concludes on September 29.

A driver’s best 14 weekly point totals count as their season total. Once a driver reaches 14 weeks of competition, they start trying to net points by replacing the lowest weekly total among their best 14 weekly totals with a higher one. A driver can only count their best point total each week as their total for that week.

The top ten drivers in the Durrence Layne Chevrolet Late Model Division National point standings will earn a seat at the Durrence Layne Racing Annual Awards Banquet to receive a point fund check and a trophy, with the National Champion pocketing $10,000.
