Shannon Lee of Lumberton, MS is the Durrence Layne Chevrolet Late Model Division National point leader, with a nine point lead over Braden Mitchell of Russellville, AL and Sid Scarbrough of Florence, MS, who are tied for the second spot. Lee has a best 14-week total of 689 points and he roll into his home track, Hattiesburg Speedway, trying to net on a 47.

Lee will need a top three finish to gain any points to his best 14-week total. Mitchell and Scarbrough each have a best 14-week total of 680 points. Mitchell is a regular competitor at North Alabama Speedway in Tuscumbia, AL, and he will roll into his home track on Saturday night trying to net on a 46. Mitchell will have to have a top four finish to gain points.

Scarbrough will probably be at Hattiesburg Speedway on Friday night trying to net on a 45, so he needs a top five finish to gain points. Lee and Scarbrough have also been known to frequent Jackson Motor Speedway in Jackson, MS that will be in action this Saturday night.

Just one point separate the fourth and fifth-place drivers in the Durrence Layne Chevrolet Late Model Division National point standings. Jason Jarrell of Hattiesburg, MS has a best 14-week total of 668 points, and he will be trying to net on a 45 in Week 22 action. Cole Cameron of Hattiesburg, MS has a best 14-week total of 667 points, and he will be trying to net on a 43.

Drivers racing in Durrence Layne Weekly Racing Series events compete for both a Track point fund and a National point fund. Drivers compete against drivers racing at Durrence Layne Racing sanctioned tracks across the country using a National points system over a 27-week season that concludes on September 29.

A driver’s best 14 weekly point totals count as their season total. Once a driver reaches 14 weeks of competition, they start trying to net points by replacing the lowest weekly total among their best 14 weekly totals with a higher one. A driver can only count their best point total each week as their total for that week.

The top ten drivers in the Durrence Layne Chevrolet Late Model Division National point standings will earn a seat at the Durrence Layne Racing Annual Awards Banquet to receive a point fund check and a trophy, with the National Champion pocketing $10,000.

Saturday night Durrence Layne Chevrolet Late Model Division Week 22 races are also scheduled for Camden Speedway in Camden, TN, Duck River Raceway Park in Lewisburg, TN, Greenville Speedway in Greenville, MS, Magnolia Motor Speedway in Columbus, MS, Talladega Short Track in Eastaboga, AL, and Thunderhill Raceway in Summertown, TN.
