ADAIRSVILLE, GA – There was limited action in Week 22 of the Durrence Layne Weekly Racing Series season, as Mother Nature washed out five of the eight scheduled Durrence Layne Che3vrolet Late Model Division races. Only two drivers in the Top 20 of the National point standings saw action, and no drivers in the Top 14 turned a wheel.

Therefore, the Top 14 remains the same as last week. Shannon Lee of Lumberton, MS leads the Durrence Layne Chevrolet Late Model Division National standings with a best 14-week total of 689 points, while Braden Mitchell of Russellville, AL and Sid Scarbrough of Florence, MS are tied for second with a best 14-week total of 680 points.

Jason Jarrell of Hattiesburg, MS holds the fourth spot in the Durrence Layne Chevrolet Late Model Division standings with a best 14-week total of 668 points, and Cole Cameron of Hattiesburg, MS rounds out the Top 5 with a best 14-week total of 667 points.

In the three Durrence Layne Chevrolet Late Model Division Week 22 races that were contested, Matt Cooper of McKenzie, TN drove the Cooper Trucking Special to victory on Saturday night at Camden Speedway in Camden, TN. Jadon Frame of Decherd, TN was the winner on Saturday night at Duck River Raceway Park in Lewisburg, TN driving the Frame Racing Rocket. Peter Hazzard of Greenville, MS took the win on Saturday night at Greenville Speedway in Greenville, MS in the C&C Refrigeration Special.

Durrence Layne Chevrolet Late Model Division Week 22 races that were rained out were on Friday night at Hattiesburg Speedway in Hattiesburg, MS, and on Saturday night at Jackson Motor Speedway in Jackson, MS, Magnolia Motor Speedway in Columbus, MS, North Alabama Speedway in Tuscumbia, AL, and Talladega Short Track in Eastaboga, AL.

Durrence Layne Racing officials have announced they are extending the Durrence Layne Weekly Racing Series two weeks due to an excessive number of rainouts during the 27-week season that began the last weekend of March and was scheduled to end on September 29. Now, the season will run through October 13.

The deadline for tracks to run Double Features to make up any rainouts during the first 25 weeks of the 2019 Durrence Layne Weekly Racing Series season will be extended one week to September 22, or by the end of Week 26.

Several tracks have already contacted series official to schedule make-up races in the coming weeks. For Week 23 action, North Alabama Speedway will run a Week 22 Make-Up Race this Friday night, and then run their regularly scheduled Week 23 race on Saturday night.

Thunderhill Raceway in Summertown, TN will run a Week 1 Make-Up Race on Friday night, and then run their regularly scheduled Week 23 race on Saturday night. The complete Week 23 schedule of events will be published in the Week 23 Preview on Thursday.
