Schaeffer’s Oil Fall Nationals Series Visits Thunderhill and Tazewell Labor Day Weekend

BRASSTOWN, NC (August 27, 2019)—As the fall temperatures roll in, the action continues to heat up as the Schaeffer’s Oil Fall Nationals Series presented by Sunoco Race Fuels will present Rounds 3 and 4 of the 2019 campaign at Thunderhill and Tazewell.

On Saturday Night August 31, the tour will head to the Jason Walker-promoted Thunderhill Raceway Park in Summertown, Tenn. racing for $5,000-to-win and $450-to-start. On Sunday Night September 1, the tour will make a visit to the Gary Hall-promoted Tazewell Speedway in Tazewell, Tenn. for the 11th Annual Buddy Rogers Memorial which honors the memory of East Tennessee racing legend Buddy Rogers. The first event took place in 2008 and Buddy’s son, Rick Rogers of Knoxville, TN would take the victory. The Tazewell Speedway event will be co-sanctioned with the Schaeffer’s Oil Iron-Man Late Model Series. The Brucebilt Iron-Man Open Wheel Modified Series will also be on the racing card racing for $1,000-to-win.

On Saturday August 31 at Thunderhill Raceway Park, the Super Late Models will compete for $5,000-to-win and $450-to-start. In addition, there will be multiple classes in action. The pit gates will open at 3:00 pm, the grandstands will open at 4:00 pm and the drivers meeting is slated for 6:15 pm and hot laps will follow. Adult grandstand admission is $20.00 per person while adult pit passes are $35.00 per person.

On Sunday September 1 at Tazewell Speedway, the Super Late Models will compete for $5,044-to-win and $450-to-start while the Iron-Man Open Wheels will race for $1,000-to-win and $100-to-start. In addition, the Sportsman division will race for $800-to-win, the Classics will race for $500-to-win and the Street Stocks will race for $500-to-win. The pit gates will open at 4:00 pm, the grandstands will open at 5:00 pm and the drivers meeting is slated for 7:00 pm and hot laps will follow when the sun goes down over turns three and four. Adult grandstand admission is $20.00 per person while adult pit passes are $35.00 per person. Defending Buddy Rogers Memorial winners include David Payne in the Super Late Models and Shon Flanary in the Open Wheel Modifieds.

The Late Model tire rule at Thunderhill Raceway Park and Tazewell Speedway will be as follows: Hoosier 1350 and 1600 along with the American Racer 48 & 56. The series entry fee is $100.00 per car. The tow money will be $75.00 to any car not making the field of 22 starters.

The Open Wheel tire rule for Tazewell Speedway is Hoosier M30S and M60 along with the American Racer Hard and Extra Hard. The M60 and Extra Hard compounds may be used as a right-rear option. The entry fee at Tazewell Speedway is $25.00 per car.
