ADAIRSVILLE, GA – There are eight Durrence Layne Chevrolet Late Model Sportsman Division races over three days on the Durrence Layne Weekly Racing Series Week 23 schedule of events. There will be a pair of Make-Up Races held over the Labor Day Holiday Weekend. That will create some moves among the Top 20 drivers in the National point standings.

There will be one race on the Durrence Layne Chevrolet Late Model Sportsman Division Week 23 schedule for Friday night, and that will be a Week 22 Make-Up Race at North Alabama Speedway in Tuscumbia, AL. North Alabama Speedway will return to action on Saturday night with their regularly scheduled Week 23 race.

ECM Speedway in Arkadelphia, AL, Jackson Motor Speedway in Jackson, MS, and Southern Raceway in Milton, FL will also be in action on Saturday night with Durrence Layne Chevrolet Late Model Sportsman Division Week 23 races. Southern Raceway is back on Sunday night with a Week 11 Make-Up Race. Magnolia Motor Speedway in Columbus, MS and Talladega Short Track in Eastaboga, AL will also be in action on Sunday night with Durrence Layne Chevrolet Late Model Sportsman Division races.

Bryson Mitchell of Russellville, AL is the Durrence Layne Chevrolet Late Model Sportsman Division point leader with a best 14-week total of 692 points, and he will be trying to net on a 47 this weekend. Cruz Wallace of Tuscumbia, AL is second in the National standings with a best 14-week total of 671 points, and he will be trying to net on a 45.

Blake Ray of Russellville, AL is third in the National standings with a best 14-week total of 667 points, and he will be trying to net on a 44. Donovan Henry of Muscle Shoals, AL is fourth with a best 14-week total of 660 points, and he will be trying to net on a 41.

Austin Steele of Moulton, AL rounds out the top five of the Durrence Layne Chevrolet Late Model Sportsman Division standings with a best 14-week total of 651 points, and he will be trying to net on a 41. A pair of drivers to watch with Make-Up Races in play this weekend are outside the top ten of the National point standings.

Doodle Lowe of Warrior, AL is 11th in the Durrence Layne Chevrolet Late Model Sportsman Division National standings with 616 points and one more week to earn full points. A 50-point win would give Lowe a total of 666 points, and move him into the Top 5 of the National standings. Ryan King of Anniston, AL is 17th in the standings with 577 points and two more weeks to earn full points.

Drivers racing in Durrence Layne Weekly Racing Series events compete for both a Track point fund and a National point fund. Drivers compete against drivers racing at Durrence Layne Racing sanctioned tracks across the country using a National points system over a 29-week season that concludes on October 13.

A driver’s best 14 weekly point totals count as their season total. Once a driver reaches 14 weeks of competition, they start trying to net points by replacing the lowest weekly total among their best 14 weekly totals with a higher one. A driver can only count their best point total each week as their total for that week.

The top ten drivers in the Durrence Layne Chevrolet Late Model Sportsman Division National point standings will earn a seat at the Durrence Layne Racing Annual Awards Banquet to receive a point fund check and a trophy.
