Making my first trip. Wondering best place to sit, cushion or chair. ...Also wondering if I can get close enough these days to see and take a few pics of WVMS and Pennsboro?

Itll be a good race, but bring a full faced helmet or something to help keep the dust out of your eyes, safety glasses more an likely won't cut it.

Well if you take Route 50 you'll go right past Pennsboro when you make the turn to Tyler county. And I haven't been by WVMS forever, last time it was still the big 5/8 mile track. And plans to stop at Portsmouth on Saturday?

No. Leaving from home here in Bama at 5 am Sunday, stopping in Parkersburg to check in hotel, then headed to Tyler Co.

You can drive right up to Pennsboro and see the entire area, WVMS not so much unless the gates are busted open. Cushion definitely, no places for a chair. Best view is coming out of turn 2 on the backstretch but it's also the dustiest. Least amount of dust (really no such thing at Tyler Co) would be down toward turn 1.

Tyler county is typically just as bad if not worse then Mansfield lol

Hey why didn’t somebody tell me about all the West Virginia toll booths. I’m down $12. We don’t have this bs where I’m from. Lol

There's one 60 mile stretch of toll road in the entire state. You found it Beckley to Charleston.

Yep. $4 a pop. I will say. Instead of gravel run offs now, the trucks have a third lane, which is a sh!t ton better. Still gravel in some areas, but adding that extra lane is great for all.

It’s still a crap drive. Way to Myrtle Beach for us. Next time we go we are flying. I like driving, but it blows. And the traffic. Really no other way to go.

There's one 60 mile stretch of toll road in the entire state. You found it Beckley to Charleston. It’s nice they are improving it, but it sucks. Then again, to do a massive upgrade would be astronomical. Just not feasible.

I was at Tyler one night a couple years ago when it rained all day (and ended up raining out) and it wasn’t at all dusty. Was the fastest freight train in the nation that night. It’s at its best when it’s blown off and dusty.

Westly??? I feel for ya, we got to enjoy him one night at brushcreek. Speaking of announcers, what's with TJ Lane at PRP for lucas oil sat night? It makes me nervous to think he could be involved there after rocky top and southern speedway. Seems wherever he's at things go bad !

You know based on Portsmouth I kept thinking why is that lapped car (#50) racing the leaders so hard.... that is how hard it was to watch the hillbilly. I had almost no idea what was going on after the top 4. Instead of bleachers get new clay. Dry slick doesn’t have mean impossible to see.

They did put a new surface on it for this year. Last years surface was a light tan in color, drivers loved it. This years is more brownish and many drivers I know that run there hate it. They could bring up the red clay from Screven in Georgia but as long as they draw water directly from the nearby creek all that sandy silt will be raining down.
