Anybody know what the normal payout is for a Lucas Oil $12,000 to win show?

10th only pays $100 more than 24th and people wonder why car counts continue to go down. Pathetic purse

I'm sure they'll be happy to take your sponsorship and up the purse.

Or they could lower their sanctioning fees or quit taking so mauch of the corporate dollars from series sponsors and pay it back thru the field

I believe my information is accurate. For straight-up purse (no contingency or bonus money/product) Lucas Oil Late Model Series HAS THE BEST RACE PURSE of all the major dirt sanctioning bodies for both Dirt Late Model AND Sprint Cars including the WoO Sprints.

To compare:

Lucas: $12,000/win and $1,000/start
WoO Late Model: $10,000/win and $700/start
WoO Sprint Car: $10,000/win and $700/start

If Lucas is so bad, what would you say about the World of Outlaws LM and Sprints payouts?

As far as running a series, tech'ing cars, treating racers well, treating track/promoter well, promoting upcoming events, very good payout... Rick Schwallie and his team do an incredible job and I think all series could learn something from them and how they conduct themselves.

Whaa, bitc*, Whaa b*tch. Some late model purses pay 1000.00 to win.

The point i was trying to make is that with 10th only paying $100 more than 24th there is very little incentive to risk driving your car to the max especially in a 50 lap race.

The two WoO tours have point finds much fatter than Lucas. There’s that.

How much does it cost a promoter to put on a 10k to win Lucas/ WOO show? It looks like after the promoter pays the purse, if he doesn't have a huge crowd, he could take a bath. How much does a sanctioning fee run? Ive always been curious about these things.

I dont know exact numbers but WoO sanctioning fee is much larger than Lucas.

I’ve heard it’s $10,000 sanction fee. Talked to a track owner one night a couple years ago and asked if they ever thought of having a WoO show he said he’d love to but cost 10Gs up front so never does it. It’s business. There’s demand for this tour to come to a track because they’ll make money in the end but takes a lot of work to put on.

30+ years ago the USAC sprints was $30k plus the purse...I about fell out of my chair after that phone call!

That's an awful lot of money for a country dirt track with 2500 seats to put up. Plus $1000 dollars is a typical winners purse. Incentive to drive hard? Guys spend their life savings to win plastic trophies at the banquet.

That means it basically cost Ponderosa roughly 40-45k for the Lucas show, that's not even taking account the purse for the rest of the classes!! Holy cow!!

And a big sanction fee.

Lucas has the biggest stars! If you want the top funded drivers in the nation at your track, it will cost. Honestly most of the time, Lucas oil late model races are 99% boring and stink. Leader takes off in clean air and its a train race.

For the tracks, you also have account for most of these drivers and teams getting for free. Im pretty sure the top ten in points get this.
