Don’t know the reason but for $30,000 to win you only get 34 cars entry field do you think it’s because of the the track it’s held at or something else

It’s the nature of the beast, at this point.

Lot of good paying regional shows in that area this weekend. The track also has a little bit of a reputation for being hard on equipment.

The Bullring will test man and machine. It's a big Lucas show that woo guys are free to attend. There are other shows going on. It just isn't a great bet for the little guy.

Was it announced that the Hillbilly will be back at Tyler next year? Heard a rumor that Mr Short was thinking of making a move.

Money is not always the deciding factor in car counts at an event. Just take a look at the Dirt Million vs the PDC. Over 100,000 to win the Dirt Million 56 cars the PDC 30,000 72 cars.

Look at the Dream 125,000 to win 84 cars or so and World 100 52,000 to win and 110 cars normally at the same track

WOO ran in Sharon, Oh. this year, ULMS had a 3 day show in Pa., Baltes Classic has become more popular, and some guys are just getting prepared for the World 100. The Hillbilly even back in the Pennsboro days only drew half of what they would get for the DTWC. Oh, and add in the Lucas sanction where provisional spots eat up the spots that locals might get and you get a smaller field. Just an opinion but without the sanction you would get more regional guys fighting for a spot in the feature. If you pay the money they will come.

So giving guys even 1 less day than they have now to prepare for the World will entice them more to come to the event?

There is just not that many late models around anymore to get huge car counts, dirt late model racing at a grass roots level is almost dead nationwide, with a few pockets of a still healthy sport. And sadly, and worse yet nobody wants to talk about it, There is probably 30 well funded teams nationwide that can compete, the rest of them are wasting there time, knowing they will never be funded like those teams or given top equipment from series corporate sponsors. The big races are so top heavy, that it pays not so good from 8th on back, example hillbilly 100 paid 1750 for 9th, why bother, its a tough race to make and there will be other tracks paying 2000 or more to win all over. I hate to be so negative, but geez, everybody is complaining about car counts and whats going on, and nobody ever wants to look at the real reasons. Perfect example, Eldora has no local late model drivers, Eldora has not raced late models all summer, thats right all summer, last race before the Baltes was the dream from the early part of June.

Back in the day a lot of the WV locals could at least compete at Tyler county, that’s just not the case anymore in the age of the Xr1

34 cars at a race where there is 5 or six cars that could possibly win isnt to bad......

6 WV drivers (JaredHawkins, Benedum, Burdette, Doll, Thomas and Hitt) made the feature out of 9 who tried. Garnes, Chris Carpenter and Jake Hawkins did not. So much for "no WV locals" theory.

It doesn’t matter how much it pays, the World 100 will always be the biggest race in the sport. For most of these guys, the money is almost an afterthought for this race. It’s all about the globe!

How true ^^^. The WORLD 100. Anybody and everybody wants that trophy over all others. The GLOBE, many more pay more for winning, but not one offers that trophy.

I wasn’t saying guys from WV aren’t fast or don’t have good equipment. Whenever the Hillbilly was pulling big car counts they would have about 20-30 guys from the Ohio valley area there trying to make the show, this year they had 9.

Hit the nail on the head there, it was the larger regional drivers who did not show. Attendance from Ohio and Pa. was almost nonexistent. Baltes took some, ULMS took the Pa. drivers. I think I omitted a WV driver as Steve Weigle was there making it 10.

Lucas tire rule keeps some guys away. Also, as stated above, there were a bunch of races within a couple hours of Tyler that kept some others away.
