ADAIRSVILLE, GA – There will be four Durrence Layne Chevrolet Late Model Division races on the Durrence Layne Weekly Racing Series Week 25 schedule of events. Hattiesburg Speedway in Hattiesburg, MS will host Double Features with a Week 2 Make-Up Race this Saturday night. The first race will be the Make-Up Race and the second race will be the Week 25 race.

Durrence Layne Chevrolet Late Model Division Week 25 races this Saturday night will also be held at Camden Speedway in Camden, TN, Columbus Speedway in Columbus, MS, and Jackson Motor Speedway in Jackson, MS.

For drivers trying to plan out the last five weeks of the 2019 Durrence Layne Chevrolet Late Model Division season, we have compiled a master schedule listed below of Weeks 25, 26, 27, 28, and 29 based on the tracks’ web sites and Facebook pages. These schedules are subject to change on a daily basis, so be sure to check out the Durrence Layne Chevrolet Late Model Division Preview each week for updates.

With five more weeks still left in the Durrence Layne Weekly Racing Series 2019 season, the battle for the $10,000 Durrence Layne Chevrolet Late Model Division National Championship is still up for grabs. With Week 26 being the last week for tracks to schedule a Double Feature event, the title hunt and the Top 10 points fund paying positions will begin to come into better focus after that.

Shannon Lee of Lumberton, MS is the Durrence Layne Chevrolet Late Model Division National point leader with a best 14-week total of 694 points. Lee will be trying to net on a 48, which means he has to finish first or second to gain any points on his season total. Lee goes into Week 25 action with an eight-point lead in the National standings.

Sid Scarbrough of Florence, MS is second with a best 14-week total of 686 points, and he will be trying to net on a 47 in Week 25 action. Braden Mitchell of Russellville, AL is third in the Durrence Layne Chevrolet Late Model Division standings with a best 14-week total of 684 points, and he will be trying to net on a 46.

Steve Russell of Pontotoc, MS holds down the fourth spot in the Durrence Layne Chevrolet Late Model Division standings with a best 14-week total of 683 points, and he will be trying to net on a 46. Cole Cameron of Hattiesburg, MS rounds out the top five of the National standings with a best 14-week total of 678 points, and he will be trying to net on a 46.

There is one driver to watch that can “come from out of nowhere” and into championship contention. The Top 19 drivers have reached the 14-week mark of their respective seasons. Spencer Hughes of Meridian, MS is 20th in the Durrence Layne Chevrolet Late Model Division National standings with 593 points and two more weeks to earn full points. Two 50-point wins would give Hughes 693 points.

Drivers racing in Durrence Layne Weekly Racing Series events compete for both a Track point fund and a National point fund. Drivers compete against drivers racing at Durrence Layne Racing sanctioned tracks across the country using a National points system over a 29-week season that concludes on October 13.

A driver’s best 14 weekly point totals count as their season total. Once a driver reaches 14 weeks of competition, they start trying to net points by replacing the lowest weekly total among their best 14 weekly totals with a higher one. A driver can only count their best point total each week as their total for that week.

The top ten drivers in the Durrence Layne Chevrolet Late Model Division National point standings will earn a seat at the Durrence Layne Racing Annual Awards Banquet to receive a point fund check and a trophy, with the National Champion pocketing $10,000.
