ADAIRSVILLE, GA – There will be a light three-race Durrence Layne Weekly Racing Series Week 25 schedule for the Durrence Layne Chevrolet Late Model Sportsman Division this Saturday night. For point leader Bryson Mitchell of Russellville, AL, Week 25 could be a memorable one, as he is one 50-point win away from a Perfect Season of 700 points.

Mitchell has a best 14-week total of 699 points and he has 13 50-point wins after 26 races this season. All Mitchell has to do is net on a 49 to get to 700 points. The only driver with a mathematical chance to challenge Mitchell for the 2019 Durrence Layne Chevrolet Late Model Sportsman Division National Championship is Ryan King of Anniston, AL.

King, who is currently tied for fourth in the National standings, would have to win a race in each of the remaining five weeks of the season, including Week 26 Double Features, in order to get to 700 points. Either two more 50 point wins by Mitchell, or a non-win by King over the next five weeks would clinch the title for Mitchell.

The trio of Week 25 Durrence Layne Chevrolet Late Model Sportsman Division races will be highlighted by a $1,000-to-win event at Columbus Speedway in Columbus, MS. Week 25 races are also scheduled for Camden Speedway in Camden, TN, and Jackson Motor Speedway in Jackson, MS.

For drivers trying to plan out the last five weeks of the 2019 Durrence Layne Chevrolet Late Model Sportsman Division season, we have compiled a master schedule listed below of Weeks 25, 26, 27, 28, and 29 based on the tracks’ web sites and Facebook pages. These schedules are subject to change on a daily basis, so be sure to check out the Durrence Layne Chevrolet Late Model Sportsman Division Preview each week for updates.

Along with Mitchell and King, there are several other drivers battling for one of the Top 10 points fund paying positions in the Durrence Layne Chevrolet Late Model Sportsman Division point standings. Donovan Henry of Muscle Shoals, AL is second in the National standings with a best 14-week total of 677 points. Henry will be trying to net on a 43.

Cruz Wallace of Tuscumbia, AL is third in the Durrence Layne Chevrolet Late Model Sportsman Division National standings with a best 14-week total of 672 points. Wallace will be trying to net on a 46. King and Blake Ray of Russellville, AL are tied for the fourth spot. Each driver has a best 14-week total of 668 points. King will be trying to net on a 40, and Ray will be trying to net on a 44.

Drivers racing in Durrence Layne Weekly Racing Series events compete for both a Track point fund and a National point fund. Drivers compete against drivers racing at Durrence Layne Racing sanctioned tracks across the country using a National points system over a 29-week season that concludes on October 13.

A driver’s best 14 weekly point totals count as their season total. Once a driver reaches 14 weeks of competition, they start trying to net points by replacing the lowest weekly total among their best 14 weekly totals with a higher one. A driver can only count their best point total each week as their total for that week.

The top ten drivers in the Durrence Layne Chevrolet Late Model Sportsman Division National point standings will earn a seat at the Durrence Layne Racing Annual Awards Banquet to receive a point fund check and a trophy.
