MBM builds their own engines, and they have been extremely unreliable. Hopefully he gets to go the distance.

I can't understand why marlar would take a ride in a car that has little chance to race competitively or even make the show. Other than wanting to say I Tryed it for 1 race.

Here's how the 66 Xfinity car has fared in 2019 thus far:

Yet no one stop to think maybe he wanted to try and give it a shot and see. If a driver does well and better then expected in a crap car sometimes it tends to be noticed by others who happen to be watching. Who knows it may lead to other opportunities down the road with another team. I could care less how the team had done. I thought it was cool someone obviously thought that well of him as a driver and as a person to give him a chance and see what comes of it. If manages to finish the race rather on the lead lap or not; that would say a whole lot.

Unless he blows it up on the pace lap I'm betting Mikey outpaces their average finish by at least 1/2........

It must make financial sense for him. His comment after the truck race paid off

Maybe he will bring an engine along for the deal.

He's not going out to blow up.

I doubt he was given this ride. This kind of deal is a rental. There is a large up front rental fee and then you have to write a giant check that they will only cash if you wreck the car. If you don't break anything, they tear up the check.

He mentioned at the truck race that he’s really like to try an Xfinity race. Looks like the people that funded his truck effort decided to fund that Xfinity effort.

Reume was so pumped up he might have helped him find a sponsor after the run they had.

Edit: that isn’t meant to be taken literally guys.

If anyone has posted about this I haven't seen it. Apologies if anyone has.

Mike ran an asphalt late model in Lebanon, Missouri this past weekend. There were 8 cars and he started and finished second.

Sounds just like every other asphalt short track race

Who cares why. Has an opportunity Probly funded by someone else. Had fun at Eldora. Want to try another race on asphalt. Not gonna make career of it. Fun new experience that has 0 bearing on anything past present or future of his DLM career. Go for it and enjoy every minute

It says a lot about NASCAR, that someone with zero experience at that level of racing was not only allowed to enter a race, but allowed to enter a playoff race. It makes absolutely no sense. I’m a fan of Mikey and have been since he was racing his modified around central Kentucky race tracks many years ago, but this was a head scratcher from the first minute I heard about it. We turned the channel shortly after his wreck. Did they ever show a replay?

Terry M. I turned it on to see how he was doing, 70 laps in, and when I saw he was the first car out that was enough for me too. I wonder if nascrap would offer free tickets if they could get fans back that they lost ? Anyhow, Marlar had a chance to get out and beat the traffic.

It was an infinity race. What traffic?

That crowd might be the most pathetic one I’ve seen so far... maybe they should do like the road racing stuff and throw all 3 series out there at once

Sarcasm turnleft. I used to have tickets for that race and the cup race. They had a excellent crowd and It would take hrs to get back to the hotel. The cup race on Saturday night there wasn't a seat to be had. Big money owners came in hired engineers that understood vehicle dynamics and the racing has gone to crap ever since. France didn't care. They had a sweet TV deal and he was doing absolutely nothing. Except for alcohol and drugs. So what's changed, the large teams out spend everyone else. The good crew members today almost need a degree in engineering to get on a top team. So you have what 15 cars that have a legitimate chance at winning. Big money teams don't race the field. They race the other owners that have all the sponsors, the engine programs. That by the way they lease motors to the smaller teams. So Brian France will still get his shareholder check and give a crap less what happens on Sunday.
