Delmas Conley Leads Bulk of Dean Knittel Memorial; Claims Runner-Up Effort
(WHEELERSBURG, OHIO) Dirt Late Model Hall of Famer Delmas Conley was the lone Conley Motorsports, Inc. (CMI) driver in action on Saturday evening, September 14, as the Wheelersburg, Ohio native ventured north to Atomic Speedway in Alma, Ohio for the unsanctioned 'Dean Knittel Memorial.' Delmas laid down the quickest lap overall during the Super Late Model qualifying session to earn Fast Time honors and later scored the victory in his heat race. After leading much of the 25-lap headliner and eyeing the $3,554 top prize, Delmas wound up settling for a strong runner-up performance behind only victor Steve Casebolt. The #71 team of Delmas Conley is slated to return to Atomic Speedway this Saturday night, September 21 for a weekly Super Late Model contest, which will boast a $2,000 paycheck. The other three CMI drivers – Rod, R.J., and J.T. Conley – will take their racing talents to the nearby Portsmouth Raceway Park in Portsmouth, Ohio on Saturday for a similar weekly show that will pay $2,000 to the winner.
