ADAIRSVILLE, GA – With four weeks to go in the 2019 Durrence Layne Weekly Racing Series season, there are five races on the Durrence Layne Chevrolet Late Model Sportsman Division schedule of events, with two of those races Double Feature events. The National Championship should come into focus after this last week for Double Features.

ECM Speedway in Arkadelphia, AL will run Double Features this Saturday night. The first race will be a Week 11 Make-Up Race, and the second race will be the regularly scheduled Week 26 Durrence Layne Chevrolet Late Model Sportsman Division race.

Jackson Motor Speedway in Jackson, MS will host Double Features this Saturday night for the Durrence Layne Chevrolet Late Model Sportsman Division. The first race will be a Week 22 Make-Up Race, and the second race will be the regularly scheduled Week 26 Race.

Camden Speedway presents the Durrence Layne Chevrolet Late Model Sportsman Division on Saturday. They will be on the racing card with the Durrence Layne Chevrolet Dirt Late Model Series National Tour that will compete in a $2,500-to-win 50-lap main event. Saturday night races will also be held at Magnolia Motor Speedway in Columbus, MS, and at Southern Raceway in Milton, FL.

Bryson Mitchell of Russellville, AL will be looking to clinch the 2019 Durrence Layne Chevrolet Late Model Sportsman Division National Championship after Week 26 competition. Mitchell has a best 14-week total of 699 points, and with him netting on 49s for the rest of the season, he needs one more 50-point win to reach the Perfect Score of 700 points.

Donovan Henry of Muscle Shoals, AL is second in the Durrence Layne Chevrolet Late Model Sportsman Division National standings with a best 14-week total of 677 points, and he will be trying to net on a 43. Blake Ray of Russellville, AL is third in the National standings with a best 14-week total of 674 points, and he will be trying to net on a 45.

Cruz Wallace of Tuscumbia, AL is fourth in the National standings with a best 14-week total of 672 points, and he will be trying to net on a 46. Ryan King of Anniston, AL rounds out the top five of the Durrence Layne Chevrolet Late Model Sportsman Division National standings, and with Double Features still in play for one more week, he still has a mathematical chance to catch Mitchell. King has a best 14-week total of 671 points, and he will be trying to net on a 41.

Drivers racing in Durrence Layne Weekly Racing Series events compete for both a Track point fund and a National point fund. Drivers compete against drivers racing at Durrence Layne Racing sanctioned tracks across the country using a National points system over a 29-week season that concludes on October 13.

A driver’s best 14 weekly point totals count as their season total. Once a driver reaches 14 weeks of competition, they start trying to net points by replacing the lowest weekly total among their best 14 weekly totals with a higher one. A driver can only count their best point total each week as their total for that week.

The top ten drivers in the Durrence Layne Chevrolet Late Model Sportsman Division National point standings will earn a seat at the Durrence Layne Racing Annual Awards Banquet to receive a point fund check and a trophy.
