Officials with the FASTRAK Racing Series powered Chevrolet Performance and I-77 Speedway have announced that the 2019 FASTRAK World Challenge has been moved one week to October 10th through 12th. The schedule change comes from scheduling conflicts with other tracks in the area. There are several Pro Late Model specials scheduled in the area, and FASTRAK and I-77 Speedway felt it would be best to not make drivers choose between three different events.
The Ripley, WV oval will hold an open practice for all divisions on Thursday, October 10th. Friday, October 11th will be a 40-lap feature paying $2,000 to win. The event will conclude on Saturday, October 12th with a 50-lap $5,000 to win feature. The event remains open to all competitors. FASTRAK members with a minimum of six races throughout the 2019 season will be eligible for the $5,000 to win points fund, paying the top 10 in points through the two nights.
“The weekend of October 5th has a lot of events going on in the area,” said FASTRAK Vice President DJ Irvine, “we never want drivers to feel like they have to choose between events, and this gives them the opportunity to attend a race of their choosing on October 5th and hopefully come race the 2019 FASTRAK World Challenge on the weekend of the 12th. We have had a great working relationship in the past with PPMS with the ULTIMATE Northeast and don’t want to go against the Pittsburgher 100. There are always a lot of special events this time of year, and we want drivers to be able to attend as many of those as possible.”
