Rodney Sanders Grabs USRA Nationals Prelim Win
Winter Nationals at Longdale Speedway Next Up

Happy, Texas (10/01/19) – For the first time in his career, Rodney Sanders visited Victory Lane at Hamilton County Speedway on Friday night. The United States Racing Association (USRA) Nationals prelim win came aboard his Wichita Tank Racing No. 20 Kenny’s Tile/ ARMI Contractors/ MB Customs/ Hatfield Racing Engine Modified.

“It’s always great to get to Victory Lane for the first time at a race track, and that was the hump we were finally able to get over on Friday night at Hamilton County Speedway,” Sanders said. “We had a really fast car, and I liked our chances for Saturday night’s finale, but rain got their first. I’m definitely looking forward to going back on October 19 to take a shot at getting that big win.”

On Thursday night Rodney Sanders traveled to Hamilton County Speedway (Webster City, Iowa) for the opening round of the United States Racing Association (USRA) Fall Nationals. With 21 Modifieds on hand for the three-day event, Sanders advanced one spot in his heat race to place second behind Brandon Davis. Starting the opening night feature in the fifth position, Rodney gained three spots, reeling in a runner-up finish behind Davis with Lucas Schott, Dustin Sorensen, and Justin Auringer trailing them to the checkers.

Passing five cars in his heat race on Friday evening, Sanders picked up a second-place finish behind Ryan Gustin, which positioned him second on the starting grid for the A-Main. Leading flag-to-flag in the main event, Rodney rumbled to his 15th win of the season. Lucas Schott, Brandon Davis, Ryan Gustin, and Justin Auringer followed him across the finish line. Sanders pocketed a $1,000 payday for his dominant performance.

Slated to start on the pole for the finale on Saturday evening, Mother Nature made an unwelcomed appearance and postponed the event to October 19.
