Dennis Erb, Jr. Inside of Top Ten at Granite City; Back on WOOLMS Trail in Southeast

(CARPENTERSVILLE, ILLINOIS) The Dennis Erb Racing team ventured south to Tri-City Speedway in Granite City, Illinois from September 26-28 for the annual running of 'Modified Mania,' which also featured a trio of shows for the Super Late Models. On Thursday night in the weekend opener that boasted a $3,000 winner’s check, Dennis Erb, Jr. ran second in his heat race prior to slipping back to ninth in the final finishing order of the 30-lap sprint after accidentally hitting the shutoff switch on his #28 XR1 Rocket Chassis.

A similar $3,000 to win program was held on Friday evening at the St. Louis-area facility and Dennis knocked down the quickest lap in his group during qualifying, won his heat race, and later placed sixth in the 30-lapper behind only victor Bobby Pierce, Chris Simpson, Rusty Schlenk, Brian Shirley, and Frank Heckenast, Jr. In the $5,000 to win weekend finale on Saturday, Dennis earned Fast Time honors during the qualifying session before finishing second in his heat race and sixth once again in the 40-lap headliner behind winner Daryn Klein, Rusty Schlenk, Chris Simpson, Bobby Pierce, and Ryan Unzicker. Complete results from the entire 'Modified Mania' weekend can be accessed online at www.tricityspeedway.net.
