Earl Pearson Jr. Advances 21 Spots to Finish Second in the Pittsburgher
LOLMDS Georgia Double Dip Up Next

Shreveport, Louisiana (10/08/19) – Weekend Lucas Oil Late Model Dirt Series action found Earl Pearson Jr. debuting a brand-new Black Diamond Racecars House Car/ Lucas Oil No. 1 Drive4Etch.com/ Clements Racing Engine Super Late Model house car. While the team got off to a slow start on Friday night at Ohio’s Raceway 7, Pearson Jr. turned on the afterburners on Saturday night at Pittsburgh’s Pennsylvania Motor Speedway.

The driver known as “The Hurricane,” advanced 21 spots to finish second in the 31st annual Pittsburgher 100.

“We weren’t that good early in the night, but we changed the setup for the feature and had a really good car. Around us guys we’re having wrecks and running out of gas, but we kept our nose clean and kept moving forward,” Pearson Jr. said. “All in all, it was a good night for our team. We’ve been struggling the past few months, but the guys at Black Diamond Race Cars and on our team have been busting their tails. We’ve got some new stuff that we are trying on the car and I think we are back headed the right direction.”

Following the Lucas Oil Late Model Dirt Series, Earl Pearson Jr. traveled to Raceway 7 (Conneaut, Ohio) on Friday evening for the inaugural Great Lakes 50. In a field of 32 competitors, Earl logged a seventh-place finish in his heat race, sending him into the B-Main. Grabbing the third-and-final transfer spot in his B-Main, Pearson Jr. earned the 21st-starting position for the opening night feature. With $10,000 on the line, Earl Pearson Jr. gained three spots to cross the finish line in 18th.

On Saturday night at Pittsburgh’s Pennsylvania Motor Speedway (Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania) for the 31st annual Pittsburgher 100, Pearson Jr. fell short of a transfer spot in both his heat race and B-Main, forcing him to rely on a series provisional to start the $20,000-to-win finale.

Wheeling his way into a podium spot, Earl passed 21 cars in the 100-lap affair to record a runner-up finish behind Don O’Neal. Tim McCreadie, Jimmy Owens, and Gregg Satterlee rounded out the Top-5.

Earl is currently eighth in the latest LOLMDS point standings. For full results from these events as well as the latest series standings, please visit www.LucasDirt.com .
