Dennis Erb, Jr. Charges to Sixth in FALS Frenzy; Looks Ahead to Portsmouth Biggie
(CARPENTERSVILLE, ILLINOIS) Dennis Erb Racing invaded Fairbury Speedway in downtown Fairbury, Illinois on October 11-12 for 'FALS Frenzy.' The doubleheader weekend in the Land of Lincoln was scheduled to start with a $5,000 to win weekend opener, but that show was nixed due to rain showers on Friday night. At FALS on Saturday evening, Dennis Erb, Jr. stopped the clock thirteenth fastest in Group A during qualifying prior to finishing fifth in his loaded heat race.
Following a triumph in his B-Main, Dennis rolled off from the inside of the ninth row in the $15,000 to win headliner. During the course of the 60-lap contest, the Carpentersville, Illinois star steered past eleven competitors en route to a strong sixth place performance behind only race winner Brandon Sheppard, Billy Moyer, Shane Clanton, McKay Wenger, and Shannon Babb. The #28 team will head to the Buckeye State on October 18-19 to vie for the whopping $100,000 winner’s check in the 39th Annual ‘Dirt Track World Championship.’ The crown jewel spectacular will once again be held on the banks of the Ohio River at Portsmouth Raceway Park in Portsmouth, Ohio. Lucas Oil Late Model Dirt Series qualifying and traditional heat races will be held at PRP on Friday night, while the consolation events and the 100-lap DTWC are scheduled for Saturday evening.
Also on tap for Saturday during the lucrative weekend is a $3,000 to win feature for non-qualifiers. Dennis has transferred into the last six DTWC headliners at Portsmouth with his best finish during that time being a seventh place effort back in 2014.
