Ok its not late models but there are a few future lm drivers and a couple promoters in these cars.

This was heat one if three...a super stock was a 112" wheelbase streeter with a four barrel and aluminum intake.

We would have six heats if streeters...

The video was in 1988 when people didn't have anything better to do than to go to the races.

Well take a look at Oakshade back in 1998 they used to get 40 or so Super Lates and 30 some sportsman and 60 to 70 Street Stocks a night. Heck for the Summer Nationals race they would get 50 some super lates. Not a lie at all.

Wow B.K., d!ck much? Kroozer been nothing but polite here and joy to see other side. How many racecars you ever raced? Ever run or work at a track?

Before you go there on crate crap yes this is a super board and their bs has their own sub-title and he pointed out future super drivers in race to tie it together.

Now please go back to your dysfunctional race format pushed supers out Georgia racing lifestyle

That doesn't surprise me a bit about the street stocks. The good ole days!

I raced a street stock in the late 1990's at a track in northern Mississippi and there were nights when there were around 40 street stocks. I remember well the first night I was ever in a racecar, there were 36 cars that night.

That is a really cool retro video Krooser. I remember those days when the stockers packed the pits. Thanks for sharing.

Krooser, thanks for sharing. Love that video. I too remember the days when street stock and lower divisions had huge car counts. Huge fields brought more family members and friends, packing fans at many race tracks.

Congrats on being in the Luxemburg Hall of Fame! WI was a hot bed for racing back in the day, and for that matter, still is today. Look at all the great drivers that came out of WI.

IMO northeastern Wisconsin is the best racing spot in the county.

Hard to buy you had 6 heats of 12 or more cars in each heat. Just saying that is 72 cars in one class for a weekly show. Hard to swallow that Krooser.

We hit 100 cars in three classes our 3rd nite and averaged around 120 cars every week after that. I believe one night we had 140 plus...

I remember those days a lot of tracks only three classes of cars that why the huge car counts. If you wanted to race you found a class you like and or could afford and that was the class you ran. Not like some tracks today with 6,7 or 8 classes of cars and be lucky to get 10 cars per class.

The late lamented Saugus Speedway in southern California used to run 2 classes,LMS & Hobbies. The LMS used to regularly get nearly 60 cars. They all qualified and the fastest 20 made the main, the next 20 made the semi with no transfers to the main. Every one else went home.
Hobbies got 30 or 40, same deal.
The dead flat 1/3 paved track had good looking cars, incredible racing and put a capacity crowd of just over 6,000 in the seats every Saturday night. That's back before the back gate promoting stuff existed.

Wisconsin racing is under rated in my opinion by those that haven’t seen it. That old video reminds me of the enthusiasm and good crowds that used to be prevalent at races 40 years ago. Thanks Krooser.

I visted Saugus a couple times during the early 70's... good crowds and car counts. The TV industry used to film most of their "racing" scenes there.
