Lock you car and dont keep anything in it. Be very aware of your surroundings. St Louis is a a criminal run place. ruthless.

Not the best racing but worth the trip. 5 world class BBQ joints within 5 miles. Casino across the street and river from the Dome. Night life of any type you desire. Stay close to the dome when on foot, you don't have to go very far from it before it turns into a 3rd world country. Do not stop in East St Louis IL, unless it is at the Casino. Not a safe place.

They put the casino in a place that's not safe? Or is it not safe because there's a casino there now?

East St Louis the city is not safe. The casino is right off the highway and is relatively safe.

Ditto to what everyone else has said, check out sugarfire smoke house downtown for lunch, It's good eating but expect a little wait. Some venture off a little to some of the bars at night, for me we go to the casino or hotel bar that about as far as we wonder off at night.

Please everyone be careful around the East St. Louis like others have said it is not a safe place. Make sure you know where your going at all times. If possible have a fake wallet meaning a few dollars in it.

You aren't at anymore danger near the dome as you are at any of the tracks in near Chicago, Miami, Dallas, Cleavland or Nashville... and so on....

You have to be watchful of your surondings wherever you are.

Per his Facebook page someone has already tried to break into Nick Hoffman's hauler in St. Louis. That was at his relatives house the other day. Not at the dome. Trailers should be safe inside the convention center. The haulers outside not so much lol

This is ridiculous. I lived in STL 48 yrs. Everyone knows not to wander around East St Louis. Like anywhere including Mayberry NC, use some common sense when out and about the night. Yes...DO NOT go beyond the confines of the dome towards the north. Not even 1 block. It’s gangland. Otherwise if your with others you should not be afraid to enjoy yourselves at the races and downtown to eat etc. just like when you’re home...lock your $hit up. There are many nice things in STL...it’s not all Ferguson. Enjoy the races...for Pete’s sake it’s December and your at the races. What more do you want?

Exactly I live in Collinsville. Yes do not venture north of the dome lol Martin Luther King drive it's the hood for sure..but otherwise I ride the metro link from the queen to the dome it's not a problem. In populated areas you will be fine...

For people who dont know East St Louis is a city in Illinois directly east of the Mississippi river to St. Louis. It has been the murder capital of the US per capita a few years...98% African American....I'm not at all being racist just stating facts...

Won' t do any good to pack anything, they metal detect before you go in. But do walk with others anywhere around that area. I lived in St. Louis for 50 yrs and it is dangerous at night. Seen a co## roach pull a switch blade on a rat and took his cheese. 😜Be safe..

No they do not pat people down. But I got a question do they have a general admission area so you can buy tickets at the gate? I have a family member wanting to go on Saturday was wondering if you can buy a ticket at gate? Or who I can call to ask...

Yeah they had a line outside for tickets last year. Its a huge place I don't think it would ever sell out for this event. Line was about 60-70 deep before hot laps and not moving very fast don't be in a hurry
