Dennis Erb Racing Gears Up for Dirt Late Model Stream Invitational at Eldora

(CARPENTERSVILLE, ILLINOIS) Dennis Erb, Jr. and his #28 team followed the World of Outlaws Morton Buildings Late Model Series tour to the Hawkeye State on May 29-30 for two more series contests at Davenport Speedway in Davenport, Iowa. On the 1/4-mile oval on Friday night, Dennis advanced to fifth in his loaded heat race and later finished fourth in his B-Main. After utilizing a series provisional to gain access into the $6,000 to win main event, Dennis worked his way past seven competitors during the 30-lap sprint to salvage a sixteenth place showing.

On Saturday evening on Davenport's sprawling 1/2-mile speedplant, Dennis clicked off the second fastest lap in Group B during qualifying prior to grabbing the second transfer position through his heat race. The Carpentersville, Illinois ace then fought hard for a top five effort in the $10,000 to win headliner before eventually settling for a solid seventh place performance at the end of forty green flag circuits. Dennis now finds himself in the seventh spot in the latest version of the WOOLMS point standings heading into the month of June. Complete results from both of Davenport's fan-less events can be viewed by clicking on www.woolms.com.

The Dennis Erb Racing team will now turn their focus to the ‘Dirt Late Model Stream Invitational’ this weekend at the famed Eldora Speedway. The invitation-only event at the Rossburg, Ohio facility will take the place of the 26th Annual ‘Dirt Late Model Dream,’ as no fans will be allowed to enter the grandstand due to COVID-19 restrictions. A pair of $10,000 top prizes will be on the line in preliminary programs on Thursday and Friday, while a whopping $50,000 winner’s check will be the goal of all 48 race teams on Saturday, June 6.

Eldora Speedway has posted a total of $205,075 in prize money for the entire weekend, which includes winnings from Saturday’s 67-lap finale that commemorates the 1/2-mile track’s 67th season. Dennis is a multi-time winner at the “Big E” including capturing the $100,000 paycheck for winning the 2016 version of the ‘Dirt Late Model Dream.’ More information can be found online at www.eldoraspeedway.com and fans can watch all of the action LIVE on www.floracing.com.
