Conley’s Amass Trio of Top Fives Over Weekend; Rod Conley Readies for Moler

(WHEELERSBURG, OHIO) Delmas, Rod, and R.J. Conley all headed to the nearby Portsmouth Raceway Park in Portsmouth, Ohio on Friday night, July 10 to compete in the annual running of the 'Dean Knittel Memorial.' R.J. wound up having the best evening of the trio of CMI drivers, as he timed in fourth fastest during qualifying and ran second in his heat race before driving to a strong fourth place effort in the $3,654 to win main event behind only race winner Colten Burdette, Freddie Carpenter, and Kirk Phillips. Delmas placed fifth in his heat race and ninth in the unsanctioned headliner, while Rod ran sixth in his heat race and thirteenth in the A-Main.

On Saturday evening, July 11, only Delmas and Rod Conley traveled north to Atomic Speedway in Alma, Ohio for the 'Freedom 40.' The unsanctioned contest drew a strong field of cars to vie for the $2,500 winner's check. "Hot Rod" finished third in his heat race before blasting all the way up to second in the 40-lap feature event, while Delmas won his heat race prior to also landing on the podium in the A-Main - finishing third behind only victor Freddie Carpenter and runner-up Rod Conley. Full results from both southern Ohio venues can be viewed online at www.portsraceway.com and www.atomicspeedway.net.

It will be a relatively quiet weekend for the Conley Motorsports, Inc. (CMI) teams over the upcoming July 17-18 weekend. Only Rod Conley will be in racing action and he has one lone event on his racing calendar for the weekend. The veteran driver of the #71r machine will invade Moler Raceway Park in Williamsburg, Ohio on Friday evening, July 17 for a $2,000 to win throwdown.
