I thought that was some kind of inside joke on that 2nd place guy. I had just watched feature on DOD and never heard his name. Going to have to watch again.

Watched on dirtvision and thought the track was racey. Congrats to Frank Heckenast and his team on the win. Still think he would have had a good chance to win at Plymouth. Class act.

A nice mix of drivers & a very racy track. It was great to see Heckenast get the win. I was surprised on how well Tim Lance ran last night.

Going to have to watch again.I think everybody in the stands was a little confused when he pulled around to the front stretch after the race. Honest to God I thought he was a lap car and had no idea he had finished 2nd... very strange.

If you can't be at the race and have to watch the stream this is where you appreciate a good announcer. You only see what the camera shows and you can easily miss a guy like Oberkramer coming from 12th to 2nd cuz you have no familiarity with him without some help from the announcer . ..........

This is what an announcer should be excited about as it's a good evolving story in real time and if you prepared you throw in where the guy is from, what he's running, how many wins he has, if any, is racing his own stuff, how old he is, how long he's run a LM and on and on and on and on. ...... Too bad for the race fan watching!

But I too was impressed with the surface and the field. The winner coming from 11th and the 2nd place car from 12th without 4 wrecks getting them there tells you all you need to know.

I noticed at least twice during the heats, where the camera was following mid pack, while the leader was changing.

I noticed at least twice during the heats, where the camera was following mid pack, while the leader was changing.

Having seen every lap of the Summer Nats I like the camera guy. I think he has an IQ and feel for the sport, but he's only one guy and does he have a producer in his ear to tell him where to point the camera when he's rightly showing a mid pack "race" and somethings changing up front?

A one camera race will keep costs down on a tour but it's bound to miss some things. The announcer however has the advantage of the monitor and can look away to the live action on the track. The camera man has a narrow view of the track.

Watching multiple camera races on the WoO and Lucas tours tells us they have a producer switching from camera to camera as the action dictates and the result is high quality of the production and it makes the stream excellent for the fan.

As an aside reading DoD today 2nd place finishing 27 yr old Oberkramer has had 11 2020 starts and his highest finish was 8th with the Lucas MLRA. Great run for him and his team.
