Bloomsburg, PA - Old PA track coming back after 40 years.

Bloomsburg Fairgrounds in Pa just announced on rebuilding the old racetrack and bring back auto racing after 40 years. I look forward to seeing the midgets run when track is rebuilt. The track will be dirt when complete.

If Bedford, Pa and Cumberland, Md speedways could have a child. Probably be a boring as Cumberland too.

Spike Gillespie is a get guy. He has to be up there in age. Gave a lot of guys the opportunity to race, had many micro sprints and midgets. Boy he could tell some stories.

Looks like the track is right on main street!!!! hehe

That is some odd looking dirt on the track.

Nice covered grandstands!!! With a back to keep the rain and wind out and make the cars louder!

The fairgrounds track was converted for Harness racing, like the Indy Mile was proposed to have happen, so the dirt, is more like crushed limestone. The worst part of the whole setup in Bloomsburg, is the stage, which has been a bear for motorsports at the Fairgrounds for decades.

Sounds like they are going to build the track into a 3/8 in front of the main grandstand? That can't be terrible at all.

Guessing all that covered stuff across from main grandstand will be removed? It's cool but looks like a terrible safety hazard for sprints and late models barreling down through there.....is that a .covered victory lane for the horses or something?

That's a stage directly across from the grandstand. It, along with some other buildings are definitely going to have to be leveled before they can even think about racing. Anyone no what county Bloomsburg is in ?
