Rumor is he was fired my Owens. Was with Willie Millikan last night.

Maybe he was with Milliken because Owens didn't race anywhere...

Owens let his whole crew go after the dtwc. Cody has bounced around since. I know he's helped Fergy and Weiss since then.

You think someone would have been all over this if true. You just want to start something from a rumor ? Why ? Maybe Jimmie has the 20 parked for the year and the whole crew is out enjoying some racing. After helping the 20 reach another lucas championship, especially when some thought he was done, this is just bull. When the 20 comes rolling in the gate during speedweeks then we will see who is there. If Cody is not, I'm sure he won't have any problem finding work. His results have proven that.

This story has been out. None of his crew was at Charlotte. It's old news at this point.

I tend to think the overwhelming majority of DLM crew guys are pretty interchangeable. If there are personality clashes or something, it’s not worth the stress. It’s probably pretty easy to find another guy that’s just as competent and easier to get along with.

Kevin Rumley is a poor man's Mallory. He's the straw that stirs the drink. I heard it here on 4m.

He's in Mooresburg

Cody Somers hired bloomers old crew back after he fired them all for 2021. Can't wait to see this mess happen all over again. Too many big egos down there and Mooresburg.

Um, yeah. Like getting hauled out of the pit area in a cop car during a race. Or how bout throwing miscellaneous tools on to the race track to bring out a caution. Yes, the results are right there.LMFAO

There are 3 things that can make a DLM crew guy hard to replace.

1) great at making adjustments when you unload like trash

2) able to understand vehicle dynamics enough to come up with a game changer improvement that can be kept secret for a couple months

3) a guy who keep the operation running organized and smoothly.

Which one is Mallory?

If Cody’s humanistic values equaled his race smarts & work ethics- he would be a big asset to any race team rather than a liability. Sometimes Father Time has a way of correcting things, but don’t know about this one?

Watched the DOD recap from last nights race at Cherokee and that sure looked like Cody checking out the rear of Overton's car during the interview.

Just watched it twice and at no point was Cody Mallory checking out the back of the 76. The guy that walks up with the Billstein shirt is the crew guy for Strickler

I'm unsure what the question has to do with the topic, but

#1 and once in a while #2.

I'm not looking for employment in touring racing, however. The pay and work conditions are terrible.

You don’t want to burn the candle from both ends for like 300 bucks a week?

It was reported in a story on DOD that Cody and Jeff were no longer with Owens.

Can't be. It was reported on here that Mallory was the brain child behind Jimmy Owens Racing and why Jimmy has found success. Why would the Lucas Oil Champ dump his crew chief? Things that make ya go hmmm.

Well, I guess we wait and see how Owen 's does without him then. We will also see how Bloomer is going to do if he is back at team zero.

The guy helped the 20, I don't know the guy, but if he bounces around so much he must have some deep issues that are not talked about. Child support, Yea we all heard about that, but there has to be more.

It pretty much is outside of a team or two.

I've been on tour a couple times, once was a 9 month contract. Living in close quarters with people for that long can make you never want to see them again.

I’m cry do you know what article that was in? Part of it may have been 3 blown motors at one event sounds like something was done wrong? Hard to go all season so consistent then 1 weekend burns up 1/2 of your point fund money. Said part is it’s hard for teams to pay crew when drivers get so much. And the cost of stuff doesn’t leave much to pay crew.

My understanding of the Owens deal- something happened at Portsmouth at the DTWC. Jimmy said the crew was disrespectful to his car owners -and let them go except for his brother Kurt. I have no knowledge-just what was posted here on 4m regarding this scenario??

Yes at Eldora. He will occasionally go to a race and help out different people. I ran into him a while back at the local hospital & I can’t repeat what he said about Cody Sumner!

Eagle Fab, without going back through DOD's archives I can't pinpoint exactly where it was first mentioned, but if you read the fast talk story where they discuss Jimmy winning the crate race Kovac mentions it there also. I'll look for the original story when I have more time.

did you hear about the time Boom scattered trailer contents all along the interstate? Not that most teams would consider that a disqualiying event...
