Being a Florence regular, I think it may just have been time to up the purse. The spring 50 has been at 5,000 for well over 20 years. The last few years when it ran, it attracted under thirty cars. Josh probably felt it was time for an upgrade.

No. Florence Speedway has chosen not to run Super Late Models every race week because of low car counts. Instead, they increased the purses for other races.

It looks like there'll be a lot of good drivers there so if the track holds up, it should be some great racing.

The weekly pay was worst in the area.

That said, a once top 5 in the nation weekly LM track is technically not a weekly LM track anymore. Sign of the times.
