Hope all of the drivers that had issues are ok! Any and all updates are appreciated...looks as if The Squirrel was holding his left wrist, not sure on status of any of the drivers. Hope all are ok, of course.

I’m assuming you weren’t watching. The track was so rough, someone might have been seriously injured. They never should have started it.

Lucas screwed RTJ among others by being too prideful to move these races. This weekend should have been switched to next weekend or the week after back when Bristol announced this weekends show. So any of their guys who wanted to race it could. Btown would have had another week or two to work on the track as well and we could have avoided the carnage we saw tonight. Hope all the drivers are okay..

Today's race at Brownstown should NEVER have even started. Absolutely horrible track conditions. Hope Fast Eddy is ok(that was a nasty tumble) Brian Shirley destroyed his car(Hope he is ok) Again, this race should NEVER started. Brownstown in March is a bad idea to begin with then add in the rain they got this week. HORRIBLE CALL BY LUCAS OIL LATE MODEL SERIES OFFICIALS!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Wow, y'all cry much? These cars are built and setup tight. When a racey track appears, loosen the thing up. Problem solved, racing good, and whiners solved

I feel bad for Brownstown in a way and in a way they brought this on themselves. The track has kinda lost its luster of the last few years. IMO it all started when they got greedy trying to make the Jackson 100 a two day event and then only payout 20,000 ( and before you ask, no I myself don’t have 20,000 laying around). But really it took three nasty flips to come to the conclusion “ hmm track ain’t safe”!! Was no one working on it all week or something. I don’t get it

cars and setup are issues for tracks like that, the cars of today are at fault here not the track, but I'm sure alot will disagree, if you mis the setup, pull off don't try and drive out of a bad setup, todays car won't let you do it, if its setup wrong its going to suck every lap in todays cars, the track took the blame but its more the setups of today along with todays cars, not so much the track
no blame either way here , just stating facts, and before they say the drop rule, ITS NOT, the rr set ups today have the rr drove into the ground

You are correct. 20 years ago, no cars would have rolled and the show would go on.

Can we really blame lucas for this though? Rick lives in cincy area and most likely knew what could've been. Promoters will do all they can to get these early races in. Basically because they know the stands will packed full.

I dont know who made the call to run it. I feel like it was a no win situation. If they had cancelled, people would've complained and said they could've gotten it in. We see what happened when they tried to run it. These early season races are always a big gamble.

The cars of today aren't built for stuff like that anymore either

Maybe a chain on the left rear would fix the problem. (Sarcasm)

The track probably intended to continue, but series or drivers did not.

Correct. Drivers were already loading up. Couldnt blame em, even with the dozing, track was continuing to get rough, moisture was coming back up. No win situation.

So if that happens run it anyway if i was the track and say that the drivers were scared worst case scenario is that the series does not give points just show up points and say if they dont start the feature no money awarded. I bet some of the local guys would start and run and give the fans a free night for a regular race if they kept their bands.

If the cars are fault, the series is at fault. Series dictates the rules to the drivers, not the other way around very often.

It’s a no win situation. A lot of rain, right after everything has thawed out, ground is going to be soft till heck, mid April or longer depending on rain.

It’s not about being “men”, or babies, if they raced, most would have raced. Knowing it was a crappy idea. It absolutely is today’s cars and their grip level. Can you make enough changes to not make it flip easily, I dunno.

The right call is what they did. Or do what Atomic did(postpone to the next available date), though it might be dicey tonight. But it’s been dry and nice since Thursday, and Atomic is banked real good, so it might be ok.

So, the best crappy call was made. You can’t go on after 3 flips in late models, and totally seeing it’s because of the track. Unless some of you know it all’s are going to foot the bill for everything they are tearing up, plus medical bills, and hoping no one dies.

And if either of the series decides to, something gets outlawed via the rules. I.e. Droop rules. The series dictates it 100% even though they change every season. The only way drivers actually influence rules is by finding the hole in the rules and making other drivers complain about said hole until the series closes it up like Bloomers special shocks or JD and the device.

Insurance would be another reason why they didnt continue. Its not as easy as just saying "run it anyway". They should have called it earlier in the week, but calling it last night when the did was the right call. They can race another day.

It just shows that the track can look like it's turning out fine. You get cars on track and they start loading the suspension to were it's getting down into the track you have a totally different problem coming to light. When was the right time to call it ? Who knows. There is a ton of factors involved here. #1 I'm sure steve francis has seen it before. The first flip was bad and they started to see the track was in trouble. You start getting soft spots in a track I don't care what you do. There is no fixing it other than opening the surface up and letting mother nature dry it out. The second tumble it should have een stopped. Explain it to the paying customer and reshedule it.

Attica was bone dry in hotlaps yesterday. I'm betting they had track sealed over for rain. I don't believe we got quite as much as 20 miles south of us but forecasts were up to inch rain. By time I got home and turned on was b main grading. Look how rough dome was and they raced.
