"According to MLRA officials, Gustin’s top four bar rod was curved resulting in the DQ. Per MLRA rule book section 12.23 (H-vii), all radius rods must be straight with the exception of the left lower, that can have a bend for axle housing mount clearance."Crazy

Just another instance of the rules going "full retard" after 2015. Spec the suspension and let the bodies go insane.

wondering if anyone knows if that rule is specific to MLRA or across Lucas, WoO, and UMP?

by the way, the racing at Stuart was incredible last night.

Out of curiosity how do they specifically know that having a "curved" rod makes any noticeable difference.

In a quick glance of the WoO rules I didn't see anything about it there.

Where did you find a WoO rules book? I'm fairly sure most every series has that rule. Its pretty much a universal post-2015 rule.

Does it help? Adding a spring to that system hurts as much as it helps. They have been around for at least 30 years and have come and gone many times.

There have been Afco, Bicknell, Penske, and probably other spring rods.

It's in both Lucas and WoO, too lazy to find it but it's in there (or least was) as I read it in 2016 after the rule changes on rear suspension

On the link off their website. It's says 2021. I just glanced through it briefly.

The link from the dirtcar site is empty. I can't find it on woo either.

I'm no Methemetician, but wouldn't a curved rod behave exactly like a shorter rod?
