Jimmy Mars Posts Runner-Up Finishes in Home State; Busy Upcoming Schedule Released
(MENOMONIE, WISCONSIN) With business booming at Mars Race Cars, Jimmy Mars and his #28 team stuck around home over the May 14-15 weekend to compete in a pair of WISSOTA Late Model programs at Red Cedar Speedway in Menomonie, Wisconsin and Rice Lake Speedway in Rice Lake, Wisconsin. In a weekly show last Friday in Menomonie, Jimmy advanced up to second in his heat race and later blitzed past six competitors during the course of the headliner to record a runner-up performance behind only victor James Giossi.
At Rice Lake Speedway on Saturday evening, Jimmy once again finished second in his heat race and rolled off from the outside of the third row in the 'Trackside Collectibles 40.' The Dirt Late Model Hall of Famer was once again on the move during the 40-lapper and vaulted up to second to finish behind only $2,000 victor and son Sam Mars! Mars Racing has combed through area and national schedules in recent days to put together their own slate of events for the upcoming weeks leading into the huge ‘Dirt Late Model Dream’ weekend at Eldora Speedway in June. With rain in the area today, Jimmy has opted to stay close to home again to compete in the Saturday, May 22 weekly program at Cedar Lake Speedway in New Richmond, Wisconsin. Below is the tentative upcoming schedule for the #28 team:
