Especially when it only pays $500 more than Mods.

Bob Sargent can run off 7 classes in a shorter time period than most promoters can run off a 3 class program. He starts on time and does not mess around.

Any chance a few name drivers that were at Spoon River last night go to Macon tonight? I was hoping for a few guys like Sheppard, Shirley, Unzicker, or Feger.

You, Sir, are part of the problem, with that sort of selfish thinking!

Because He doesn't want to sit thru 7 support classes? Guarantee you, he's not alone. And for 12 supers? I like Macon but no thanks.

Usually I would agree, like at Fayette County, but the 7 classes thing isn't that big of an issue at a Sargent race. I was following on MRP, all feature results were in by 10pm

Sarge has been increasing the number of undercard classes steadily for a while now. At one time the Herald & Review 100 was a stand alone event. No more.

It can be bragged that Sarge can run off 7 or 8 classes in a short period of time and technically that is true. The caveat comes into play when all of the undercard classes, except maybe hornets, have just enough cars to run 1 heat race and the feature.

Believe me, there have been times we've been to Mighty Macon with 6 or 7 divisions racing with a reasonably full compliment of cars on hand in all divisions and it's been a marathon that makes you feel as if you're being held hostage. And to a degree, you are.

Whoever it is that posts Macon's upcoming events info here won't even give a definitive answer as to when the headliner division A-main will be run. I love Mighty Macon but no thanks.

5 of the 7 classes had full fields and the other two had double digits and the whole show was done by 9:45 pm. Bob does not mess around. 7 classes at most other tracks would take twice as long to run.

I've been to Macon and TEI promoted events many times and I've been held hostage more that once or twice. He'll hit it right at least half the time but he's also presided over some clinkers, too.

And as I said before, he refuses to specify where in the lineup of A-mains the headliner will run. That alone is a deal breaker in my world.
