Ray Cook Set for J.T. Kerr Memorial at 411 Motor Speedway this Weekend
(BRASSTOWN, NORTH CAROLINA) Ray Cook and his #53 team headed to Smoky Mountain Speedway in Maryville, Tennessee on Saturday, June 19. The Iron-Man Late Model Series roared into the historic speedplant to preside over the annual running of the 'Iron-Man Classic,' which boasted a $5,000 paycheck.
Ray knocked down the ninth quickest time in Group A during the qualifying session prior to placing second in his consolation event. After rolling off from the outside of the ninth row in the 40-lap main event, Ray suffered from fuel issues and eventually retired early in the twentieth finishing position. The Brasstown, North Carolina ace is set to jump behind the wheel of a Crate Late Model this upcoming weekend (June 25-26) in the 10th Annual ‘J.T. Kerr Memorial.’ Piloting an entry out of Joe Denby’s racing stable, Ray will tackle 411 Motor Speedway in Seymour, Tennessee for the two-day showdown. Qualifying and heat race action will take place later tonight, while the $10,040 to win ‘J.T. Kerr Memorial’ will headline Saturday’s activities at the Volunteer State oval.
