Drake Troutman Bests Renegades of Dirt Modified Action at Greater Cumberland
Three-Race Renegades of Dirt Pennsylvania Swing Up Next

HYNDMAN, Pa. (06/29/21) – Drake Troutman piloted his Smith Transport / RFI Resources No. 7 MB Customs Race Car / Lasalle Racing Engine Modified to the Renegades of Dirt Tour Victory on Saturday night at The Greater Cumberland Raceway.

Troutman’s 16th win of the year was worth $3,000.

“Honestly, I think we had a chance at two wins this weekend, but passing was pretty difficult in the feature on Friday night at Roaring Knob. I tried the topside once but there just wasn’t much left up there by that point. We got a third-place finish, but I felt like we had more potential. On Saturday night at The Greater Cumberland Raceway, we overcame a flat tire to beat one of the best in the business in Eddie Carrier Jr,” Troutman commented. “We’ll carry this momentum into the upcoming weekend. A big thank you goes out to everyone, who supports our program!”

A busy weekend of racing kicked off on Friday night at Pennsylvania’s Roaring Knob Motorsports Complex. Drake was pulling double duty with both the Renegades of Dirt (RoD) Modifieds and Super Late Models.

In RoD competition, Troutman blazed to the fastest time over the 23 entries to earn the outside-front-row starting spot for the feature. The main event found the field battling around the low side of the speedway as Drake slipped to a third-place finish behind Eddie Carrier Jr. and Michael Altobelli with Gary Dalton and Mitch Thomas completing the Top-5 finishers.

In Super Late Model action, Drake qualified second in the 14-car field, which locked him into the second-starting spot for the feature. He ran in the runner-up position throughout the feature before crossing the finish line in second to Jared Hawkins.

Saturday took the team to The Greater Cumberland Speedway (Cumberland, Md.) for another Renegades of Dirt event. Drake turned in a great performance with a hard-earned feature win.

He started the night by setting fast time to earn the pole for the feature. Carrier Jr. jumped out to the early lead, and Drake pursued him until lap 16, when he got a flat on his No. 7 Modified. He ducked into the pit area for fresh rubber and charged from the back of the pack to the lead on lap 21. He never looked back on his way to his 16th win of 2021.

Eddie Carrier Jr., Daniel Hill, Kurt Rogers and Ed Vogel completed the Top-5 finishers.

The team now turns their attention to a Pennsylvania tripleheader with the Renegades of Dirt Modified Tour, which spans this Thursday – Saturday. Action opens on Thursday at McKean County Speedway before moving to Thunder Mountain Speedway on Friday and then Hummingbird Speedway on Saturday. All three events pay $2,000 to win.

Troutman continues to lead the way in the latest RoD standings.
