Dennis Erb, Jr. Tackles Summer Nationals Quartet on Heels of Firecracker 100 Podium!

(CARPENTERSVILLE, ILLINOIS) Dennis Erb, Jr. and his #28 team paid a visit to Lernerville Speedway from June 24-26 to compete in the 15th Annual 'Firecracker 100.' The World of Outlaws Morton Buildings Late Model Series once again presided over the three-day shootout, which drew more than 50 competitors to the storied Sarver, Pennsylvania facility. In the first of two $6,000 to win preliminary programs on Thursday night, Dennis placed fifth in his heat race, second in his B-Main, and nineteenth in the 30-lap sprint. On Friday evening in a similar $6,000 to win show, Dennis secured a heat race triumph prior to winding up fourth in the 30-lapper behind only race winner Brandon Overton, Michael Norris, and Mark Whitener!

When Saturday rolled around at Lernerville Speedway, a huge crowd assembled to see who would emerge victorious in the 'Firecracker 100,' which boasted a whopping $30,000 winner's check. Dennis finished a very close second in his heat race and later started the 100-lap headliner from the outside of the fourth row. The Carpentersville, Illinois standout then blitzed all the way up to second in the running order until slipping back to third in lapped traffic late in the distance.

Dennis, who now finds himself fifth in the latest WOOLMS point standings, landed on the podium of the 'Firecracker 100' with victor Brandon Overton and runner-up Chris Madden! Complete results from each of the three events over the weekend in the Keystone State can be found online by clicking on www.woolms.com.

“It was a good, solid weekend for us out at Lernerville Speedway,” quoted Erb, Jr. earlier this week via telephone. “We had speed all weekend – it was just kinda hard to pass the first couple of nights. Then in the big show on Saturday, our car was real balanced and I think we had a second place car behind Overton, but just couldn’t get through lapped traffic the way we needed to. I’m looking forward to getting back on the Summer Nationals trail this week – with the Outlaws taking off – and seeing what we can do at some tracks around home!”

A hectic month of July for Dennis Erb Racing will start with a quartet of DIRTcar Summer Nationals shows this week in the states of Iowa and Illinois. Dennis is set to tackle Davenport Speedway in Davenport, Iowa later tonight, July 1, while the popular “Hell Tour” will then take Dennis to the Dirt Oval at Route 66 in Joliet, Illinois, Fayette County Speedway in Brownstown, Illinois, and Lincoln Speedway in Lincoln, Illinois from July 2-4. The events later tonight at Davenport and on Sunday at Lincoln will boast a $5,000 payday, while the showdowns in Joliet and Brownstown will both shell out $10,000 to the winner.
