Billy Moyer Jr. Tops Lucas Oil MLRA Stop at 300 Raceway
Claims $5,000 for First Victory of ’21 Season

Batesville, Arkansas (07/06/21) – Billy Moyer Jr. finally shook the monkey off his back on Friday night as he raced to his first win of the 2021 season. He picked up a $5,000 payday in the Lucas Oil Midwest Racing Association (MLRA) event at Iowa’s 300 Raceway.

Moyer Jr. registered the victory aboard his Nutrien Ag Solutions No. 21jr Hass Horizontal/ Mesilla Valley Transportation/ Capital Race Car/ Clements Racing Engines Super Late Model.

“We have been really, really struggling,” Moyer shared in 300 Raceway’s Victory Lane. “The track kind of rubbered there, but we had to have a pretty good car there early and kind of did what we needed to do. I was really trying to preserve my tires, and I told (myself) you’ve got to get the lead and that was the hard part and then the hardest is just managing your tires. I’m just glad to get a win, it has been a long, long time.

“While we haven’t had the best of luck, we’ve had a fast car. Even more, we’ve got some amazing folks, who support this team and haven’t give up on us. We also recently added Kent Kafer and the folks at Pontiac RV on board as a marketing partner, and that’s been a huge shot in the arm for our team. Again, I just can’t thank everyone enough who supports this racing program.”

Wednesday night saw Billy Moyer Jr. return to competition with the DIRTcar Summer Nationals as the series headed north to Beaver Dam Raceway (Beaver Dam, Wis.) for the eighth round of the Hell Tour. After taking part in a heated battle in his heat with Brian Shirley, Moyer Jr. ran out of room late in the race, dropping him to second. Starting the $5,000-to-win feature in fifth, Billy dropped three spots in the 40-lapper to place eighth.

The following night at Davenport Speedway (Davenport, Iowa) on the quarter-mile oval, Billy grabbed the fourth-and-final transfer spot in his heat, which positioned him 15th on the starting grid for the A-Main. After bringing out the first caution of the race, Moyer Jr. was an early retiree from the 40-lap affair on lap 21.

On Friday afternoon, Moyer Jr. remained in the Hawkeye State as he invaded 300 Raceway (Farley, Iowa) to compete with the Lucas Oil MLRA. After topping the 24-car field in time trials, Billy cruised to a heat race victory, which positioned him on the pole for the feature. Completing the perfect sweep, Moyer Jr. led every lap to capture his first win of the season and a $5,000 prize. He took the checkers ahead of Jesse Stovall, Garrett Alberson, Mason Oberkramer, and Chris Simpson to claim his sixth career MLRA triumph.

The weekend drew to a close on Saturday night at Iowa’s 34 Raceway as a $5,000-to-win Lucas Oil MLRA program took center stage. Via prelim action, Moyer Jr. earned the pole position for the feature. He paced the opening circuits before ultimately settling into a third-place finish behind race winner, Garrett Alberson, and Jeremiah Hurst. Tad Pospisil and Tony Jackson Jr. rounded out the Top-5 finishers.
