Dennis Erb, Jr. Holds Off Outlaws Foes for Emotional $20,000 Victory at Jackson Motorplex!

(CARPENTERSVILLE, ILLINOIS) Dennis Erb, Jr. secured an emotional victory on Saturday night, July 10 at the pristine Jackson Motorplex in Jackson, Minnesota! Racing with a heavy heart from the recent loss of both his uncle and his beloved dog Joey that had traveled up and down the road with him for about 13 years, Dennis clicked off the second fastest lap overall during World of Outlaws Morton Buildings Late Model Series qualifying before placing second in his loaded heat race. After drawing the outside of the front row for the 50-lap headliner, Dennis dominated much of the feature distance before surviving several challenges in a flurry of late-race restarts. The Carpentersville, Illinois star held on to capture the whopping $20,000 top prize for his second WOOLMS triumph of the year over a top five that consisted of runner-up Frank Heckenast, Jr., Brandon Sheppard, Chris Madden, and Cade Dillard!

On Friday evening, July 9, a $10,000 winner's check was up for grabs in the weekend opener at Jackson Motorplex. Dennis laid down the thirteenth quickest time during the qualifying session prior to running sixth in his heat race. He then rolled off from the inside of the sixth row in the 40-lap main event and was able to steer his XR1 Rocket Chassis past a handful of competitors en route to a solid sixth place effort behind only victor Frank Heckenast, Jr., Brandon Sheppard, Ryan Gustin, Chris Madden, and Brent Larson. Dennis now finds himself fifth in the latest version of the World of Outlaws point standings exiting the Gopher State double-dip. Full results can be viewed online by clicking on www.woolms.com.

“It has been a rough couple of weeks personally, but it feels real good to get a victory like the one we got the other night at Jackson,” quoted Erb, Jr. this week following his richest win since 2016. “We just keep working and working on the racecar – kinda our own little deal and things are finally clicking for us. The racetrack was hammer down on Friday night, but it slowed up for Saturday and was in real good condition. I could roll right through that middle and was very comfortable throughout the race until all those cautions at the end. We sure didn’t need that, but I was able to fight those guys off behind me the last few laps to get a win that we really needed!”

The Dennis Erb Racing team has remained in the Upper Midwest in recent days, as they have been gearing up for a quartet of $10,000 to win World of Outlaws Morton Buildings Late Model Series shows from July 13-18. The national touring series will snake through the states of Wisconsin, North Dakota, and Minnesota over the next handful of days. Action will get underway later tonight at Gondik Law Speedway in Superior, Wisconsin before heading to River Cities Speedway in Grand Forks, North Dakota on Friday, I-94 Speedway in Fergus Falls, Minnesota on Saturday, and Red Cedar Speedway in Menomonie, Wisconsin on Sunday.
