Far cry from the 60 from last year but the Shootout is better being in New Mexico, right???? This list is absolutely the reason the Shootout belongs in Arizona!!!! Thornton will NOT be there!!!!!

I would think that Don Shaw would be there. I would also hope that anyone that Royal has sponsored (in any of the classes) would want to go and compete at his track. Since Moyer and BMJ competed in Las Vegas about six weeks back, I kind of figured they would come out to Vado. Obviously that doesn’t seem to be the case though.

I think you can also add Arizona driver, Steve Stultz 78s.

For this who play Dirt Draft like me. They have a list of late model picks for Night 1 of the Welild West Shootout. Looks to be about 38-40 drivers. If I remember I’ll update the list above later on today.

This list is absolutely the reason the Shootout belongs in Arizona!!!! Thornton will NOT be there!!!!!Not sure anyone said it's "better being in New Mexico???" Are you implying that if Arizona Speedway was still in operation that they would have ever considered going to Vado because someone thinks it is "better" for the event???? Doubt it! I think the promoters/organizers are just trying to stay positive and make the most of an unfortunate situation. There are cons to Vado, no question (not as desirable location for non-racing things to do, less desirable weather), but it's not a terrible option either. The facility is great and capable of handling an event of this size. I'm not sure that any other venue is AZ is (maybe Yuma but it's a fair bit further west and while the facility is nice, I don't personally think it would have been as good a choice). I'm from AZ, have been to every single WWSO and want the WWSO here, but I am certainly not going to sarcastically degrade the location they chose to have it or any of the people who have worked so hard to make this event what it is today. I'm leaving this morning and hoping to see great races at a great venue. If you're not interested in the location or the field that will be there... then don't show up and don't watch online. Your choice :)

In a world for 20k to win is the new 10k to win paying 5k a night in the middle of the desert seems low to me. Just an observation.

Best way to put it is, the payout $ucks, especially with all the sponsors that they list. The last night is decent pay but the rest of the nights is way too low. $5000 to win and 10th on back is only $500. If your running 15th you might as well just pull in and save your car and tires.

I didn't notice much difference in the cars looks or attitudes with these new body rules.

Because it’s not being enforced yet. When WoO starts at Volusia is when the new body rules are to be enforced. I don’t think it’s gonna enforced that much anyway.

What should we expect to see? Will the left rear not jack up ten feet off the ground when they're on the throttle?

I figure the tech guys will come out all hard (not a nice word)(not a nice word)(not a nice word)(not a nice word)ed during speedweeks, it'll be almost forgotten after that. Driggers done come out and said he wasnt going to enforce it this year. Which will be interesting to see once the second round of Volusia gets here.

Makes a lot of sense for World Racing Group to join the rule changes and Driggers saying he’s not going to enforce it this year. So what’s the purpose?

Driggers doing whatever, whenever, however he wants???? Shocked.

Said no one.

Pretty much have the same thoughts. You can’t get 10 or more sanctions to enforce the same rules and tech cars the same way.

I laughed when people said this was the best thing to happened in 10 years. It’s all window dressing.
