Bernheisel Racing Sweeps Top-2 Podium Spots in Selinsgrove Opener
Hagerstown Speedway and Port Royal Speedway Up Next

JONESTOWN, Pa. (04/04/22) – In an all-Bernheisel affair, Bryan topped his dad Jim in Saturday’s season opener at Selinsgrove Speedway to pick up the victory in his Bernheisel Race Components No. 119 Dieffenbach’s / Pioneer Pole Buildings / Lazer Chassis Late Model.

“We raced each other clean and I know he (Jim Bernheisel) would never let me win, and he definitely gave it his all,” Bryan Bernheisel shared in Victory Lane. “To come back and win a race, right at a year after my accident last year and to do it at my home track, there’s just no better way to start a year. Not to mention, this is a brand-new car that me, my dad, and Brandon (Bernheisel) came up with… and it’s just awesome. Pill draw was obviously important, but I was so comfortable in this car, and it did everything I could’ve asked it to do.”

Bryan and Jim Bernheisel made the short trip to Selinsgrove Speedway (Selinsgrove, Pa.) on Saturday afternoon to kick off the 2022 season with the track’s season opener.

In a field of 19 Super Late Models, Jim started the night with a heat race win, while Bryan charged forward four spots to finish fourth.

With an all-Bernheisel front-row for the feature, Bryan outdueled his dad in the 25-lapper to capture his first win of the season and a $2,500 prize. Gene Knaub, Jim Yoder, and Hayes Mattern rounded out the Top-5.

“You know the first lap I ran him (Bryan Bernheisel) pretty hard because we were side by side to the point that I almost thought I was going to run into him going into turn one, but luckily I didn’t because it would’ve crashed us both,” Jim Bernheisel commented. Once he got to the lead, I settled into second. It was a great day for our team.”
Sunday's event at Bedford Speedway (Bedford, Pa.) fell victim to Mother Nature.

Bernheisel Racing now turns it attention to a Lucas Oil Late Model Dirt Series (LOLMDS) doubleheader on Saturday and Sunday with Bryan going into battle in both events. Action opens on Saturday at Hagerstown (Md.) Speedway Conococheague 50 with a $15,000-to-win event before transitioning to Port Royal (Pa.) Speedway on Sunday for a $10,000-to-win program.
