The last that I heard, Josh Richards currently doesn't have a ride for next season and is undecided on what he is going to do. I would love to see him on the track but there are no quality rides currently available.

Josh lost the dedication yrs ago. He is happy at this point in life, so in reality that's all that matters. The guy has a ton of talent, he's in his 30's I believe, maybe someday that desire and dedication will come back. Happy days ahead 'Kid' rocket

I think leaving racing is retirement. I mean, it's semi pro at best, driving for most teams.

I don't think drastically is the right word. They change a little but for the most part they're set in stone. Of course a couple of those WoO guys don't know what they're getting into and will drop off after Volusia, and maybe a driver or two will flip flop series but at this point we pretty much know what we're getting in 2023.

15 cars for the tour is pretty good. Does anyone know if WoO will pay 15 positions for points at the end of the tour?

The last time they had this many drivers run the full tour was 2016. 14 entered all 40 events.

My question is why ? It has been rumored a lot of this is due to steve francis coming over from lucas. If they get that many cars to follow the season it may put the hurt on lucas oil series. I saw this question brought up on another forum,
Why do the sprint car guys get a platinum membership which benefits them greatly and the slm teams do not ?

Because the DLM drivers are not restricted on where they can race when not running the WOOLMS, and the Platinum sprint car drivers are allowed four non-WoO races without losing their benefits and tow money, It is an Apples to Oranges comparision between sprint cars and DLM's.

300 Bonus points to start the season before the first race:
Devin wins the first race but isn’t in the top 12 in points? And people are talking about the new Lucas Oil championship format being a “gimmick”? It’s no wonder why WOO has 20+ early driver commitments.

Sign up- get 300 bonus points- get provisional priorities- ect.
My question is: when they drop off do those 300 bonus points get taken away?
If not- how can anyone complain about the new Lucas Format?
Things will shake out after Ga/Florida and into March as to what is actually going to happen for the year.
Some will be strong- some will go home liked whipped pups.

"Some will be strong- some will go home liked whipped pups."

Happens every year, why should 2023 be any differen?. I think when the dust settles come April, you will see 14 or 15 teams with the WOOLMS and a sold 12 with the LOLMS. The rest will be back home as Regional racers and there is nothing wrong with that in my opinion.

I don't understand the point of this Loyalty Agreement. Is it just to keep the Lucas guys from leading the points at the end of Volusia or is it a way for the series to make extra money or is it just for the publicity of claiming 23 drivers? It makes no sense to me.

That happened at the Pittsburgher a few years ago. It was a Lucas show. The intention behind the provisional was to give a provisional to a local racer, almost all of whom run Rockets. There is no PPMS provisional anymore, because they only run supers once a year.

I care! All drivers can flip flop there intentions after Ga/Florida as to which tour the continue to follow - regardless of their original intent. Example: A guy who originally planned to run Lucas comes out of Florida buried in points but is looking really good in WOO points - in the past could just change yours. With this new format: it such driver didn’t sign on with WOO he is already buried 300 points with WOO- which would detour him from flipping over to WOO.
That’s my complaint- am I a dumb a—- for this thinking.
A Signed up WOO driver can still flip over to Lucas if he so chooses without being penalized- that’s all I am referring to.
Now go ahead and blast me!

foxfire2dirtracing
01-21-2023, 10:13 AM
It dosen’t effect me personally- but it puts some race teams at a disadvantage to make a tour choice depending on how they leave Florida in point standing on each tour.
I don’t have a horse in the race from my standpoint -but it certainly limits several teams.
Does this not make sense or do you just have a beef with me?

Fox...

So how does it affect you if a driver flips to the other series or not?

I am much more bothered by why the quote on here only works half the time. You would think someone could figure this out.

The 4m quote button coincides with your blood pressure. If you're all worked up, it senses it and disarms the quote function.
Try taking a deep breath, relax and give it another go.

As of today (1/25), WoO has 16 driver profiles on their site:

https://worldofoutlaws.com/latemodels/drivers/

ftfiowa
01-25-2023, 11:14 AM
per the WoO today, the winners circle program is expanded from 12 to 15 teams for 2023 meaning the top 15 will get the $2500 payment per month, & if they run thru november world finals that totals $25000 total for each driver.

That the reason there is 25 drivers sign up is so they have the option to switch. If they didn't sign up they had a 0% chance of running the tour in the first place.
