We regret to inform our fans watching at home that we finished 2nd in our heat and were determined by WoO officials to have violated their droop rule. Any rule where you can check multiple times and get multiple readings is an unenforceable rule that has no place in this sport, but we accepted their decision and withdrew from our outside pole starting position in the B-Main. We have elected to load up and wait for our Lucas Oil Late Model Dirt Series opener at Golden Isles Speedway. Thank you all as always for the support.

The other 48 teams had no issues with the rule. Just saying.

Agree 100%. Why is it when teams get caught, although disappointed, they just accept it, make the nessesary changes and move on? Teams have reacted like Ross "The Boss" my entire life as a race fan when they have been caught with a rule infraction, Droop, Tires, etc.

Same complaint Weiss had last year at eldora. Why we are still using a tape measure is beyond me.

Why they are checking it, is beyond me. I was told they didn't even check the winner of Robinson's heat.

Rocket 1 was never disqualified at a WoO event until the very first race it was known they were leaving the series. Teams on a tour get the benefit of the doubt, with that tour.

Im more concerned about letting the teams bolt on 3 new tires for every feature!

Im assuming thats the reason for Shane Mcdowells fb post!

I've been sayin that for years. WoO trademark.

If the WoO was being petty about the droop rule, they would have picked somebody much higher on the Lucas food chain, yet they all passed as did every other car on the property. Maybe someday racers will develop accountability, but I’m not holding my breath.

^ what sense does it make to check the guy in 2nd but not the winner? It sounds like to me he had a legit reason to be mad regardless of who it was

3 tires vs 2? I know it was 1 last year, cause of shortages. These guys waste way more than that $200 dollars.

I'd say McDowell had more issue with the LM10 than the tire count.

maybe by letting them use 3 new tires is a way to use up the ump tires

They even said the 10 was the major issue.

They haven't made a LM10 (#1 in the new tires) according to Mr Rush at Hoosier since 2012 or 2014 (I forget but around that time frame) so it's not like they trying to use up LM10's.

They are however trying to use up the LM30's.

while i think there has to be some rule, this one is crazy hard for some because if you change a spring or two, you could fail, or some crazy rebound change, there is a fail, and you didnt change anything on the limiter, thats the hard part for smaller teams, lots of testing needed for the rule

I don't see why they need this rule, when lots of other more important ones have been tossed aside.

Flyboy, you been listening to Ray too much. It's got nothing to do with rolling. It’s about air. Air = downforceAnd I was actually joking about the rolling over part (obviously the teams and drivers don’t want to destroy equipment intentionally) 👍

Air certainly is the result, but it seems they only acted because people complained that certain teams were hiking higher than others and the tech wasn't necessarily for sale.

A curved roof creates a good bit of lift. The noses from 2005 were like 3 times "taller" in their cross section. Those things have to be as important as an 1" of deck height.

Thanks guys!

It's just so maddening to exist as a logical, rational being in a sport where rules are all formed based on politics, innuendo, incorrect assumptions, and to placate the highest bidder. There is so little science and logic used, or even a clear desired outcome of the latest rule, before it's implemented.
