Is 2024 last year, has anything changed on on permanent closure? Tracks on bucklist so need to plan ahead. When tickets go on sale for following speedweek and where best area to stay?

Thanks y'all for info

Next year is the last speed week.

Not sure on tix. I just buy general admission in person.

I like to stay in Brandon.

What about the mine and issues with the EPA? Any chance that will delay this?

No idea. They keep saying on the broadcast that next year is the end. The track is still being operated like the end is near too, with lack of investment into it.

Core samples did not come back positive for Mosaic- yes there is EPA issues involving fines/permits. What I am being told Al Varnadore is finished after mid season 2024.

The sale of East Bay is still not set in stone. No one knows for sure. The owner is saying there will be one more year of speedweeks, and then a few races in the summer of 2024.

Its done, signed and sealed and paid the lien holder (Bonnie Matthews)!

Straight from the horses mouth!

Al sold it because it was being foreclosed on!

There's a lot of casual chain stuff, but nothing really memorable. It's just convenient being at the 60/75 interchange.

Good luck getting a straight answer, or any answer, from them.

I think big Al is burnt out IMO, he's ready to be done with it. I seen a comment on Facebook where the track photographer said Al told him he is basically done after speedweeks of 2024 regardless of what the outcome of the contract is.

You hear and read all kinds of stuff. So really who the hell knows at this point
