Rod Conley Claims First Win of 2023 Season in Wire-to-Wire Fashion; Ponderosa Tonight!

(WHEELERSBURG, OHIO) Rod Conley, of Wheelersburg, Ohio, found victory lane for the first time in 2023 on Saturday night, July 29 at the nearby Portsmouth Raceway Park in Portsmouth, Ohio! In the weekly Super Late Model event, Rod drove his familiar #71R Rocket Chassis to the second quickest lap overall during qualifying before securing a victory in his heat race. After starting the 25-lap main event from the outside of the front row, "Hot Rod" led each and every circuit of the contest to bag the $2,000 first place prize money over a top five that included runner-up Kirk Phillips, R.J. Conley, Kenny Christy, and Kevin Wagner.

R.J. unfortunately dropped a driveshaft during his heat race, but later climbed five spots during the unsanctioned headliner to land on the podium in third. Complete results from last Saturday at PRP can be accessed online by clicking on www.portsraceway.com.

The Conley Motorsports, Inc. (CMI) teams will jump right back into competition over the August 4-5 weekend. Rod Conley is slated to vie for the $7,500 winner’s check with the Valvoline Iron-Man Late Model Series later tonight at Ponderosa Speedway in Junction City, Kentucky prior to invading Atomic Speedway in Alma, Ohio on Saturday evening for a $3,000 to win throwdown. His brother R.J. Conley will make a return trip to the nearby Portsmouth Raceway Park in Portsmouth, Ohio on Saturday night, as another $2,000 payday will be up for grabs. Additional information on these events can be found online at www.ponderosaspeedway.net, www.atomicspeedway.net, and www.portsraceway.com.
