Kyle Beard Tops Hattiesburg MSCCS Visit for $2,500 Triumph
Leads CCSDS Contingent into Three-Race Weekend

TRUMANN, Ark. (08/29/23) – Kyle Beard topped Friday night’s Mississippi State Championship Challenge Series (MSCCS) Super Late Model event at Hattiesburg (Miss.) Speedway on Friday night aboard his Gary Beard Trucking No. 86 Mann Motorsports / Black Diamond Race Cars / Clements Racing Engine Super Late Model.

He added a podium finish on Saturday night at Magnolia Motor Speedway to finish second in the final series standings.

“It was tough to come up just short of the Mississippi State (Championship Challenge) Series title, but congrats to Neil Baggett on a job well done. We got the win on Friday at Hattiesburg and were in contention on Saturday at Magnolia (Motor Speedway) but didn’t quite get there,” Beard commented. “We’ve got a big weekend in front of us with the COMP Cams (Super Dirt Series) guys, and we are focused on three nights of racing. Billy (Moyer Jr.) isn’t far behind us in points so we know we have to be on our game.”

Participating in the Mississippi State Championship Challenge Series 2023 finale weekend, Kyle Beard traveled to Hattiesburg (Miss.) Speedway on Friday afternoon for the first leg of the doubleheader.

Sitting on the front-row of the 30-lap feature, Beard quickly took the top spot and went on to outduel Neil Baggett for the $2,500 payday. He outran Baggett while Jamie Buford, Clayton Stuckey, and Dean Carpenter completed the Top-5 as Beard’s season win total grew to five.

Tied with Baggett heading into the final MSCCS event of the season, Beard was one of 17 Super Late Models at Magnolia Motor Speedway (Columbus, Miss.) on Saturday evening.

Following the third-fastest lap in his qualifying group, Kyle would line up from the third row in the $3,000-to-win feature. Needing to finish ahead of Baggett to secure the championship, Beard unfortunately finished two spots behind Baggett in third.

He trailed Neil Baggett and Oakley Johns at the checkered flag, while Brian Rickman and Evan Ellis rounded out the Top 5.

Beard settled for a runner-up finish in the series points standings.

Beard now prepares to lead the COMP Cams Super Dirt Series (CCSDS) Super Late Models into a tripleheader holiday weekend. Action includes a $5,000-to-win event at Super Bee Speedway (Chatham, La.) on Friday followed by the $6,000-to-win All American 60 on Saturday. The weekend draws to a close on Sunday evening at Magnolia Motor Speedway with another $5,000-to-win program.

Kyle currently holds a 24-point advantage over the standings in pursuit of his third-career CCSDS championship.
